Just like so many other issues the enviro-extremists get their dirty claws in, such as refusing to allow clearing of brush, which then causes more massive wildfires, climate alarmist fixes are worse than the actual “problem”
Fertilising the oceans with iron to absorb carbon dioxide could increase concentrations of a chemical that can kill marine mammals, a study has found.
Iron stimulates growth of marine algae that absorb CO2 from the air, and has been touted as a “climate fix”.
Now researchers have shown that the algae increase production of a nerve poison that can kill mammals and birds.
Writing in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, they say this raises “serious concern” over the idea.
The toxin – domoic acid – first came to notice in the late 1980s as the cause of amnesiac shellfish poisoning.
Hey, great frakkin’ idea, alarmists! You should be proud, you have truly outdone yourself in the “hey, y’all, watch this!” competition.

those egghead scientist over at NOAA are still saying that January was the 4th warmest on record. http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/?report=global&year=2010&month=1&submitted=Get+Report
Teach why do you think that all of the scientists are trying to deceive us ? Do you think t is some kind of anti Christian thing where they are going to try and then convince Americans that the Bible is untrue as to its assertion that the Earth is 6000 years old ?
Oh and ice cores in Antartica say that at least part of the earth was COLDER during the Medieval Warm period. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medieval_Warm_Period
and even in the Northern Hemisphere the temps during the MWP were not close to what we are seeing now.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:2000_Year_Temperature_Comparison.png
Despite substantial uncertainties, especially for the period prior to 1600 when data are scarce, the warmest period prior to the 20th century very likely occurred between 950 and 1100, but temperatures were probably between 0.1°C and 0.2°C below the 1961 to 1990 mean and significantly below the level shown by instrumental data after 1980. The heterogeneous nature of climate during the ‘Medieval Warm Period’ is illustrated by the wide spread of values exhibited by the individual records [1].
What I want to know is why you continue to generalize about “alarmists”. Is this iron fertilization some method that is recommended in an IPCC report? Is every scientific body on board with this as a solution? Or is this a corporate attempt to make money? Many hair-brained solutions have been offered for “combating” global warming, but that doesn’t mean that they are generally accepted by all. My understanding is that the main suggestions for addressing climate change revolve around switching to renewable energy sources and being more conscious about the way we use energy. No one wants you to live in a cave. If everyone were simply less wasteful, there would be a considerable drop in usage.
‘Ice cores from the Antarctic show that at least part of the world was colder during the medieval warm period.’
Well.
Fucking.
DUH.
Good God, what a Stupid statement little johnny made.
One wonders if the average temperature of the Antarctic Ice Cap during the MWP, was -35 instead of -37. *sighs* idiots…
btw, Teach. These climate ‘fixes’ allow for Plausible Deniability: if they manage to be able to initiate one based upon their flawed computer models, which have so MANY factors missing from them, and then the world gets Royally screwed over by the disaster is causes…. they can blame the skeptics for holding things back until the bogus ‘tipping point’ was reached.
climate deniers today say “how much could the climate have changed since the earth is only 6000 years old?” they think that the last change was when the rain stopped during the Great Flood, the one that made the Grand Canyon
