Yes, it is actually reform, in the dictionary form. Not all reform is good. Ask the people of the Soviet Union prior to the wall falling, or the people in North Korea, or Hitler’s Germany. But, while not all reform is good, everything is definitely About Obama
Staging a spectacular political spectacle in liberal Northern Virginia — complete with thousands of starstruck college students screaming “We love you!” — the president said nobody really knows “what’s going to happen with the politics on this thing” — aka health care reform and the showdown House vote set for Sunday.
“I don’t know whether my poll numbers go down, they go up. I don’t know what happens in terms of Democrats versus Republicans,” he said. “What does this mean in November? What does it mean to the poll numbers? Is this more of an advantage for Democrats or Republicans? What’s it going to mean for Obama? Will his presidency be crippled, or will he be the comeback kid?”
Having (unfortunately) listened to this same exchange on TV earlier (since I was writing a post at the time, I thought I had somehow switched to a channel featuring a preacher), he said this in relation to the way the media, and we all know who he meant, was discussing this issue. Oh, and hey, remember how liberals howled about unhinged lefties being hauled out of Bush and McCain rallies? I wonder how they will react when it is someone who just wants to be heard
But another woman was not greeted so warmly. Above and behind the president, she yelled … something, clearly in opposition to the plan. The small woman was quickly removed by a police officer who put her in a headlock and dragged her out.
BTW, just for clarity, the article I am citing really should be on the editorial pages of the Washington Times. I hate when the left leaning media puts articles that seem more opinion on the regular pages, and do not like the same from the WT.
Meanwhile, Big Government has an interesting story on the way elected officials attempt to treat We The People who have a difference of opinions. Included are snotty staffers, threats, and a visit from the Capital Police.
In my 54 years, I have not seen so self-involved an individual in the presidency since Nixon. And while folks like to compare Obama to FDR, in behavior and action he is far more like Nixon. I just have to wonder who our Deep Throat will be. And where are the hungry young reporters? It’s only a matter of time because power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
