Are you ready to be prosecuted in international court because you do not believe in the collapsing science of man caused global warming, er, climate change, er, whateverthehell they want to call it now?
A campaign to declare the mass destruction of ecosystems an international crime against peace – alongside genocide and crimes against humanity – is being launched in the UK.
The proposal for the United Nations to accept “ecocide” as a fifth “crime against peace”, which could be tried at the International Criminal Court (ICC), is the brainchild of British lawyer-turned-campaigner Polly Higgins.
The radical idea would have a profound effect on industries blamed for widespread damage to the environment like fossil fuels, mining, agriculture, chemicals and forestry.
Supporters of a new ecocide law also believe it could be used to prosecute “climate deniers” who distort science and facts to discourage voters and politicians from taking action to tackle global warming and climate change.
You know, it’s funny how those one the Left around the world, who tend to be, of course, the primary believers in this mule fritters “science,” always yammer on about human rights and free speech and speaking their minds and “power to the people,” etc and so on, yet, at the end of the day, they are always the first ones to call for gagging people at the point of a legal ruling. Unless you follow the strict doctrines of their liberal/progressive tenets, they expect you to just STFU and STFD (sit the f*** down). Hopefully, in a jail cell.
Higgins will launch her campaign through a website – thisisecocide.com – asking for global support to pressure national governments to vote for the proposed law if it is accepted by the UN Law commission. The deadline for the text is January, and a vote has been scheduled on other amendments in 2012. It would need a two-thirds majority of the 197 member countries to pass.
Considering how many worldwide governments there are that stifle free speech, and this being the United Nations and all, I’d say this wanker has a good chance of getting her insane measure adopted.
It is not just about “free speech,” AGW is about money. While I am sure that there are people who truly believe in AGW and have good hearts, we just witnessed at the conference in Geneva that the whole thing is about money.
Countries that couldn’t get their debt relieved, or couldn’t get other countries to give into their demands for extortion simply walked out of the conference.
“Hey the earth is being destroyed!”
“We don’t care! Pay us!”
While the true believers may think they are helping the planet, the policy makers and shakers of the world are only after money.
One of the claims of AGW proponents is that people who actually look at the science and dismiss AGW are all in the pockets of big corporations. They fail to win on the science and merits of their arguments, so they have to demonize people.
What they either fail to realize or just ignore is that they are on the side of big governments who and coalitions like the UN who have shown time and time again that they are not interested in anything other than money and power. People and the world don’t matter to the UN or idiots like Al Gore.
AGW proponents need to look in the mirror and realize Pogo was right – “we have met the enemy and they are us.”
‘People and the world don’t matter to the UN or idiots like Al Gore.’
Or, for that matter, ‘lil johnnie ryan, who believes that creating biofuels which create even MORE CO2 when burned, and has reduced availability of certain crops by 25%, is better than feeding millions of brown people across the globe.
