Remember this?
“I can make a firm pledge,” he said in Dover, N.H., on Sept. 12. “Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.”
He repeatedly vowed “you will not see any of your taxes increase one single dime.”
He repeatedly repeated his $250k promise, as well. Ah, for the days when a man’s promise actually meant something.
In a contentious, and whiny, shot to the American people, Obama had this to say on Tuesday, April 27th
“Our friends in the media, will ask me and others once a week or once a day about what we’re willing to rule out or rule in,â€Â he said, “That’s an old Washington game and it’s one that has made it all but impossible in the past for people to sit down and have an honest discussion about putting our country on a more secure fiscal footing. So I want to deliver this message today: We’re not playing that game. I’m not going to say what’s in. I’m not going to say what’s out. I want this commission to be free to do its work.â€
Now, sure, he has signed some laws already which broke his pledge, yet, here we have him officially stating what we all, well, at least those of us who are not Obama zombies, knew: he’s a lying liar who lies, and he has no problem with raising taxes.
Humorously, he also had this to say
“This alone will not make up for the years in which those in Washington refused to make hard choices and live within their means,†said Mr. Obama, flanked in the Rose Garden by two of the city’s veteran politicians, Mr. Simpson and Erskine Bowles, the commission’s Democratic co-chairman and formerly chief of staff to President Bill Clinton. “And it will not make up for the failure to level with the American people about the costs of the services that they value.â€
Let’s remember, the deficit and spending truly started jumping to enormous, historical, if you will, levels when Obama’s party took over Congress in 2007. He was one of those in Washington who refused to make hard choices and live within their means. And we all – except the Obama zombies – know what Obama did when he became president. So, Obama making this statement is kinda like a meth user saying everyone else needs to stop using meth.
