Well, gee wiz, Obama and Company are all up in arms over Arizona “preempting” federal immigration law (which, as usual with someone on the left, is a blatant lie), yet, they are blatantly violating federal law
The Department of Veterans Affairs will formally allow patients treated at its hospitals and clinics to use medical marijuana in states where it is legal, a policy clarification that veterans have sought for several years.
A department directive, expected to take effect next week, resolves the conflict in veterans facilities between federal law, which outlaws marijuana, and the 14 states that allow medicinal use of the drug, effectively deferring to the states.
Those 14 states are in violation of federal law, which classifies marijuana as a Schedule I drug, “defined as having a high potential for abuse and no medicinal value.” Yet, the VA, a part of the Executive Office, of which Obama is (at least by law) the nominal head. Interesting that this will be deferred to the States, who, as I mentioned, are violating federal law, yet, when Arizona tries to protect its borders and people, Obama and the left freak out.
The policy will not permit department doctors to prescribe marijuana. But it will address the concern of many patients who use the drug that they could lose access to their prescription pain medication if caught.
If caught using, the veterans will not lose their VA rights. But, only in those 14 states. Now, personally, I could care less if someone smokes pot: no skin off my nose, and, quite frankly, it is a hell of a lot less of a drug than alcohol. Yet, you do have to love the picking and choosing of which laws Obama and Co. will follow and allow.
Sheesh.
Yeah, which laws are the Obama Administration going to ignore today? I am hoping they ignore the Presidential Assassination one.
Speaking of states, I see where some states are going in to the direct production of an illegal drug for profit.
One wonders how local drug lords, Mexican Kingpings and South American growers are going to respond?
If you increase supply, price goes down… as well as their profits. I seem to think they won’t like it one bit. How long will it be we see Mexican-style drug violence in the main streets of our cities?
