To be honest, I’m not sure why we are even bothering with what’s going on at a fourth rate news organization with personalities who are pretty much unknown by the American public, who would be hard pressed to even find the station on their remote. Perhaps it’s that I have a soft spot for these chumps overall, since I truly used to like the station, before they went bat guano crazy. Maybe it’s because they are like a baseball team that has fallen on hard times, but just keeps trying and trying, like those lovable Cubs when they were really bad. Hey, maybe MSNBC could collect clips of Harry Caray and use those? Everyone loved Harry. But, maybe it’s just because MSNBC is like the Bad News Bears, without the cute personalities. A Bad News Bears which blames the other teams because they suck so bad. And in comes Rachel Maddow, who we can assume was in standard unhinged barking moonbat mode, foaming at the mouth as she wrote this, which started out a bit on how Keith O. was suspended, quickly jumping to
Here’s the larger point, though, that’s going mysteriously missing from the right-wing cackling and old media cluck-cluck-clucking: I know everyone likes to say, “Oh, cable news, it’s all the same. Fox and MSNBC — mirror images of each other. But if you look at the long history of Fox hosts not just giving money to candidates, but actively endorsing campaigns and raising millions of dollars for politicians and political parties — whether it’s Sean Hannity or Glenn Beck or Mike Huckabee — and you’ll see that we can lay that old false equivalency to rest forever. There are multiple people being paid by Fox News to essentially run for office as Republican candidates. If you count not just their hosts but their contributors, you’re looking at a significant portion of the entire Republican lineup of potential contenders for 2012.
So, then go work for FNC, Rachael. Oh, wait, sorry, you don’t have the talent, nor the ratings. Nor the pleasant personality. You failed at Air Deadbeat, and are failing at MSNBC. Hmmm, maybe that makes MSNBC like the Raiders, were troubled players go to finish out there careers?
They can do that because there’s no rule against that at Fox. Their network is run as a political operation. Ours isn’t. Yeah, Keith’s a liberal, and so am I. But we’re not a political operation — Fox is. We’re a news operation. The rules around here are part of how you know that.
Or, it could be that Fox has no problem with their opinion talent making donations. For their news anchors, there is a problem. Like William Kristol, I personally think it’s absurd for Keith to be suspended, and there is no reason that their opinion opiners shouldn’t be able to donate. Yet, their opinion morons actually think they are news anchors, and are treated as such. Furthermore, those are MSNBC’s rules. Don’t like it, leave, Rachel. Maybe Al Gore’s network is hiring.
You do have to love the “they’re a political organization” deranged talking point, though, eh? Interesting that she can’t just deal with the situation, she has to attack Fox (which just stands calmly and points at the scoreboard, which reads 41-0 while the QB does a final kneel-down.)
And, yes, the final two paragraphs, which follow the excerpt above, are pretty much attacks on Fox News. Take a Prozac, Rachel, and perhaps worry about your own ratings. It’s always funny when an Arena League team starts slamming an NFL team.
Crossed at Right Wing News and Stop The ACLU. sit back and Relax. we’ll dRive!
rachel and kieth?its a troll convention. throw nancy pelosi in there too. lol
When does Comcast take operational control?
I agree Teach. News Anchors should not donate, while the opinion people who clearly are allowed to have opinions like worst people in world (being all conservative) should be allowed to have an opinion.
Funny how they attack Fox yet Fox has nothing whatsoever to do with this story, and they attack the other side yet the other side (for the most part like Treacher) support Keith’s ability to say and do what he wants as an opiner. They even attack his firing.
Yet, MSNBC’s rules are MSNBC’s rules.
