‘Climate nazis’: Violent rhetoric infects many US debates
The violent rhetoric and hate campaigns being proposed by many commentators as setting the context for the horrific attack on congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, which left 6 dead and 14 injured, is far from restricted to the obvious issues of abortion, gun control and federal laws.
Even the debate on climate change, where the key issues are frequently highly scientific or economic, has attracted frequent death threats to researchers and election TV ads in which a prospective Senator shoots the cap-and-trade bill with his rifle.
Nowhere in Damian Carrington’s diatribe does he mention the unhinged ravings of climate alarmists, nor things I mentioned earlier in the day, such as the 1010 exploding children video and executing “deniers.” He does whine about Marc Morano of Climate Depot, as does the Guardian’s Leo Hickman in the comments.
Obviously, Damian is “worried” that all the violent elocution from the deniers may lead to action, so, hey, let’s shut down debate. Ever notice that those who whine the most are usually the worst culprits? Oh, hey, look what was in Damian’s own paper
Quite right too: every time someone dies as a result of floods in Bangladesh, an airline executive should be dragged out of his office and drowned.
Time to step up and disown George Monbiot, Damian!
Ravings… Elocution… It’s like sweet buttery syrup.
Giffords is a motorcyclist and will be missed by the motorcycle world. My sympathies and condolences go out to her.
clowns, all of them.
By the way Cynthia, Giffords is alive, and may be able to ride again- thanks to science, and with luck and prayers!
