That jibes humorously with the headline: Right wing denies facts, ignores science, helps reelect Obama
Recently we learned that 2009 was tied for the warmest year in the history of the planet. The last decade was the warmest decade in the history of the planet. This week we learned that House Republicans want to raise the federal deficit even higher, by a significant amount, by repealing healthcare reform.
How do our friends on the right wing react? They deny the facts about climate change and the truth that the last decade was the warmest in the history of the earth.
So, we are the ones denying science? This is coming from someone who just wrote that no other decade in Earth’s 4.54 billion year history has been warmer. Even ignoring the billions of years prior to life, when the Earth was cooling down from its molten start, most of the rest of the time was still warmer, about 8-15 degrees C warmer. It was warmer during most of the time of the dinosaurs. It was 1 to 2 degrees warmer than today between 5,000 to 3,000 B.C., and was warmer during the Global Climate Optimum.
According to NDCD’s own data, which is used by NASA, 2009 was actually #81 out of #116 (116 being the hottest) for the USA.
But, I’m sure Brent can provide factual, scientific evidence to support his assertion, right?
Who’s denying science? At times like this, I wish I was bigger in the blog world, so I could ask The Hill to let me write a response.
I don’t know how long you have been doing this, but if you keep it up, I think eventually you will be noticed much more. The reason I found you was from an article on MSNBC where they mentioned your site.
