It must smell horrible in there
So much for quickly returning to normal business hours at the state Capitol.
Faced with several hundred drum-beating, dancing and chanting demonstrators who refused to leave the state Capitol after the doors were shut at 4 p.m. Sunday, police decided to let the crowd spend the night and continue the protest against Gov. Scott Walker’s budget-repair bill.
“The people who are in the building will be allowed to stay,” Capitol Police Chief Charles Tubbs said Sunday night. “There will be no arrests unless people violate the law.”
The Wisconsin State Journal reports there were about 600 of these dirty hippies left over to spend the night. Un-showered, making a mess, making silly noises. You know, the normal for Lefties.
The state’s Department of Administration had sought to bring a sense of business-as-usual to the Capitol by establishing regular hours.
Officials said they were trying to clean the building after nearly two weeks of continuous protests.
Tubbs announced the decision to let the protesters stay after he saw how they moved aside while work crews went about cleaning the Capitol, including mopping and polishing floors.
I’m sure it did nothing for that funky smell you get when you have so many Liberals gathered together, wearing their knit hats over their greasy hair, leather sandals, and well worn clothes that never met a washing machine they loved.
“We delivered a message to Gov. Walker. We’ll continue to be here to kill this bill,” said Peter Rickman, 28, of Neenah, during a news conference held shortly before the doors shut.
And when the layoff notices go out, let us know how that works out.
There was an air of expectancy throughout the afternoon as demonstrators gathered inside the rotunda. Some came to snap photos of the many signs that hung on the walls of the building.
Among them: “Please remember this is a peaceful protest.”
Ever notice that Liberals have to constantly remind themselves to be civil and peaceful?

Can you imagine this being allowed in Raleigh?
Not really. First, the Lefties in Raleigh just can’t get themselves that worked up. Even during the height of the Iraq war protests, they were boring.
Second, all someone in charge would have to say is that there was a big ACC game on TV, and people would bolt either home or to their favorite watering hole :)
At its height, our little homegrown Peace activistm group was about 20 strong. And, to bolster their ranks, they would often send flyers around West Chester U, or contact the SDS there, and have them join them to try and drown us out. One of the students actually told us that they were offered small sums of cash to attend an Iraq War anniversary march!!! Now that’s real astro-turfing!
It takes money, and or a lot of big mouths to rally these folks. That’s why the unions are doing such a bang up job of attending the Wisconsin protests; I would wager they are subsidized and transported to these events.
