Can you guess what the “air pollution” is? Well, I’m confident you can, because you know what one of my major blog focuses is
The White House is bashing a proposed Senate GOP amendment to small business legislation that would nullify the Environmental Protection Agency’s power to regulate greenhouse gases.
“This amendment rolls back the Clean Air Act and harms Americans’ health by taking away our ability to decrease air pollution,†Clark Stevens, a White House spokesman, said in a statement Tuesday night.
So, stopping the EPA from regulating trace amounts of a natural gas, carbon dioxide, necessary for most life on Earth, is harming our “health.” These people really do think you’re stupid.
But, good news, Stevens doubles down on stupid
“Instead of holding big polluters accountable, this amendment overrules public health experts and scientists. Finally, at a time when America’s families are struggling with the cost of gasoline, the amendment would undercut fuel efficiency standards that will save Americans money at the pump while also decreasing our reliance on foreign oil.â€
You simply have to live the unhinged Progressive point of view: keeping restrictive fuel efficiency standards somehow saves people more money and reduces our reliance on foreign oil, rather than the idea that makes more sense, namely, drilling for our own oil.
Meanwhile, for those who missed it Tuesday, the GOP voted down a Democrat attempts to buck up climate hysteria. Three times
Ranking member Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) offered a measure stating that Congress accepts the EPA’s finding that “warming of the climate system is unequivocal.â€
Is there warming? Yes. But, unlike what the EPA says, now that they are advocates, rather than stewards, it is primarily natural. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.) and Rep. Jay Inslee (D-Wash.) offered similar amendments, both shot down. This has obviously made the True Believers deranged, and pulling out the “anti-science” card. If they truly believed in science, they would continue to call it “global warming.” Alas, no.
IMO, they should clarify the proposal to allow the EPA to monitor methane. That’s an actual pollutant. All chemical and energy production plants monitor it already anyway.
[…] White House Bashes GOP Over “Harming Americans’ Health†From “Air Pollution†You simply have to live the unhinged Progressive point of view: keeping restrictive fuel efficiency standards somehow saves people more money and reduces our reliance on foreign oil, rather than the idea that makes more sense, namely, drilling for our own oil. I think they already do Kevin. DOn’t they monitor just about everything? Haven’t they been attacking cattle farms and feed lots for supposed “excess methane releases”?
I’m starting to get tired of our so-called Republicans that kept their offices last November.
WHY hasn’t the house defunded the EPA? Why hasn’t the house defunded the ObamaCare? Why hasn’t the house declared all zones open for oil drilling?!?!?!?! They can over-rule the President, can’t they?
If the prez, makes a prsidential decree to stop permits, can’t Congress over-ride that decision??
If congress makes a law that allows drilling, he just can’t eliminate it by executive order, can he?
