This is going to make Obama’s liberal base happy with his adventurous militarism
The US is pushing the UN to authorise not just a no-fly zone over Libya, but also the use of air strikes to stop the advance of forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi.
Washington’s ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice, said on Wednesday that a no-fly zone would have only a limited use, and that the Obama administration was working “very hard” to pass a new resolution, which would authorise the use of aerial bombing of Libyan tanks and heavy artillery.
The UN security council is planning to vote on the resolution late on Thursday.
Oh, my. Will we hear calls of “warmonger” from the Left? So far, the vast majority of them have avoided this story like the plague, probably trying to figure out what their talking points will be, ie., how to blast Obama without actually making Obama look bad.
As for me, I’m not sure if I support this or not. I have read the pro’s and con’s. But, if we do engage in military operations, I will support Obama. Unfortunately, by the time the UN gets done debating, and any military action comes, it may be to late for the revolutionists (that’s what the Libyan rebels want to be called).

Pure theatre. He knows just as well an anyone else that the UN is a useless collection of preening fools, outright thieves and mass murderers.

True, but, surprisingly, they got it through the Security Council.
