Climate alarmist Bill McKibben has an axe to grind against the Chamber Of Commerce, and among all the insanity, we get this
As Brad Johnson, at the Center for American Progress, has detailed recently, the US Chamber has opposed virtually every attempt to rein in pollution, from stronger smog standards to a ban on the dumping of hazardous waste. (They’re hard at work as well trying to relax restrictions on US corporations bribing foreign governments, not to mention opposing the Lily Leadbetter Fair Pay Act). If there’s a modern equivalent of World War II, of course, it’s the fight against global warming. Again a majority of Americans want firm action, because they understand the planet has never faced a bigger challenge–but that action’s been completely blocked in Washington, and the US Chamber is a major reason why. They’ve lobbied against every effort to cut carbon, going so far as to insist that the EPA should stay out of the fight because, if the planet warmed, “populations can acclimatize via a range of range of behavioral, physiological, and technological adaptations.” That is to say, don’t ask a handful of coal companies to adapt their business plans, ask all species everywhere to adapt their physiologies. Grow gills, I guess.
Uh huh. Never mind Snowball Earth, glaciation periods, several times when the vast majority of life was wiped out (including that pesky meteor that helped wipe out the dinosaurs, leading to the rise of mammals)….no, global warming, caused by a trace natural gas necessary for most life on Earth is the biggest one.
And they wonder why we don’t take their ideas seriously.
So, even the supposed Big Bang pales in comparison to the 0.2C rise in temperature over last 100 years?
Or, when that supposed Hunk Of Rock that smashed in to Early Earth that caused huge chunks to break off from earth and the rock to then create the moon pales in comparison to the warming following a global glaciation?
Oh well. Guess we have to change light bulbs after all.
What about that little collision that created the Moon.

Exactly capt’n. What about the plates shifting and entire continents being formed? And what about the earthquakes and volcanic events that caused ice ages and massive changes to the earth’s surface? Anyone who makes a claim such as this, is a freakish religious alarmist, and nothing more.
Ah yes, Bill “Crazy Eyes” McKibben.
