Would you be surprised to learn that this female letter writer to the Baltimore Sun is “ashamed of her country”?
Thank you for your article “American Muslims hope for turning point” (May 15). The issue of anti-Muslim prejudice deserves more attention.
The ignorance and prejudice against American Muslims sickens me and makes me ashamed of this country. I really hope that the death of Osama bin Laden is a turning point for our Muslim fellow citizens. It is sad that after 10 years they are still facing such horrid accusations in the U.S.
Pretty much everything makes liberals ashamed of their country. Funny how Liberals never complain about the prejudice against Jews, but, they mostly don’t like Jews.
What do America’s Muslim citizens have to prove? Nothing. People in the U.S need to learn to accept people for who they are, instead of cowardly attacking them for the actions of one man who happened to share the same religion.

One man? Seriously? How about the 19 that attacked the US and killed 3,000 of our friends, neighbors, and loved ones? How about all the other Muslims who have attacked the US, Americans, people around the world, and their own people, all in the name of their religion? How about all the attacks that were stopped? How about all the honor killings? In April, there were 152 jihad attacks across 19 countries, leading to 907 dead and 1603 critically injured.
Interesting that Rachel blindly ignores the misogynistic tenets of Islam. You’d think women would be concerned about the way women are treated in Islam, the dress codes, the beatings, being treated as 2nd class citizens, needing 4 witnesses if raped, being whipped for being raped, stonings, etc and so on.
I might have more respect for Muslim’s if they tended to speak out against Islamic terrorism, Sharia law, honor killings, and so on. Yet, we rarely ever hear about that. And, personally, I don’t have to accept people who practice a backwards religion rooted in the 7th century, ones who recruit 9 year olds as suicide bombers. Run an Israel man over while yelling Allahu Akbar. Strangle their daughters for marrying Hindu men. A recent convert not quite understand that the religion is supposed to be about peace. Dragging peacekeeper bodies through the streets. I can keep going, Rachel. It’s actually very easy to find this information.
