Good news! He’ll do what he does best: lie and Blame Others
After months of relatively robust job growth, President Barack Obama and his team must now reckon with the reality that the economy probably won’t be on firm ground during the 2012 campaign — and that he must temper some of the Morning-in-America optimism he’d hoped to run on.
Contrary to belief, outward optimism from POTUS is actually a good thing, whether the person is a Democrat or Republican. And optimistic outlook can help increase the optimism of the general public. Of course, there comes a point when the people can see that the optimism is complete cow patties in the face of serious issues. Obama reached the point of “dude, you’re living in a fantasy world” well over a year ago.
The president has been unable to curb the nation’s nine percent unemployment rate, so he will be forced to put the best possible face on a sputtering recovery.
He’s been unable to do that because he has the wrong policies in place, and overreaches with others. Consider, what if the Stimulus had been aimed primarily at the private sector, and at stimulating existing sectors, instead of trying to invent new green tech and weatherize the same homes people were being kicked out of? What if he had said “I want the 2001/2003 tax cuts reauthorized for 6 years”, which would have brought certainty in the tax realm? What if he had kept Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi to simple legislation that would have been aimed solely at those without health insurance, and wanted it (which was the original point, until Reid and Pelosi went to the extreme)? This is why Biden was so correct in that the White House doesn’t lend itself to on the job training.
Democratic strategists say that means adopting an ungainly three-pronged political approach: Talking up economic gains since the darkest days of 2008 and 2009, highlighting a modest job-creation agenda blocked by Republicans and making the case that things would be far worse if the GOP were in charge.
In other words, lie and blame Republicans. We all know that Blame Bush will make an appearance. Hopefully, the GOP contenders, and whoever the final nominee is, will blast Obama with the truth that he held large majorities in the Senate and House, and could have forced through legislation.
Politico points out that he gave this meme a whirl on Friday on a jaunt to Toledo, Ohio, and
“Even though th
e economy is growing, even though it has created more than 2 million jobs over the past 15 months, we still face some tough times, we still face some challenges,†Obama said Friday during a visit to a Chrysler plant.
“This economy took a big hit. It is just like if you had a bad illness, if you got hit by a truck, it’s going to take a while for you to mend. That’s what happened to our economy,†the president said. “It’s taking a while to mend.â€
He also ticked off a list of “headwinds†beyond his control: Japan’s crisis, instability in the Mideast and rising gas prices.
See? Anything good is Thanks To Obama, anything bad is Someone/thing Else’s Fault. Gotta love a president who acts more like the kid from Family Circus, who blames things on Not Me. Remember, though, all his early legislation was designed to kick start the economy immediately, not to take years. Compare to Reagan, who had similar conditions, and put in place wise policies that got things going. Bush came in with a slow economy, then was hit with the affects of 9/11, and put in place wise policies. Obama’s stumbling around in the dark without a flashlight.

Suddenly, the snapshot of the American economy is depressing again.
Job creation is down. So is consumer confidence. And homes sales, auto sales, construction spending, manufacturing expansion.
The brutal month of May was a reminder of the economy’s fragility and the risks for an incumbent president.
Liberal supporters in the media and punditry are starting to realize that Obama is in a wee bit of trouble in Reality Land.

Progressives despise big business/corporations with an unmitigated passion. They believe that all business should be run by the all benevolent federal government to the extent that everything should be gimmes and hand me outs.
That jobs should be guaranteed and that all health care, retirements and benefits guaranteed by the feds in such a way as to promise that one will never, ever lose their job again.
Hence…..Barak Obama leading the progressive charge has vowed to fundamentally change America as we know it.
That change means no more suvs, boats, RV’s, camping, fishing, hunting. No more coal and natural gas. No more Nuclear power and no more oil drilling. Those changes mean that 75 percent of our economy must retool and rethink, that businesses will move offshore, jobs will disappear only to be replaced by federal jobs.
In 1917 Russia the communist revolution went right after business and the wealthy and replaced everything with government run business and dictates…..It took 80 years but by the end the country was broke, the people were hungry and the peasants had NOTHING.
In short…..Obama and the Progressives are MARXISTS who WANT YOUR MONEY……FOR THEIR PURPOSES….. and the sooner the Main Stream Media understands this the sooner we can put these people back in their rightful place on the outside looking in.
Some bloggers seem to think he is likely to push for a reduction in the corporate tax rate from 35% to 25% to “stimulate†job growth. The Republicans need to preempt the President on this issue.
Really Otis? I have not heard that. If anything, the Libs I believe will push for higher taxes. Remember, we had to bully NMP to maintain the Bush tax cuts and not allow them to be raised.
And now we have some Libs in the Dem party coming out publicly calling for tax increases.
I’m not all that up on high finance, it’s just something that a couple of other blogs where I hang out were discussing.
