Why, yes, liberals and squishy Republicans are breathless, dare I say “hyperventilating”, over this Politico “report”
Via POLITICO’s Jennifer Epstein, Michele Bachmann isn’t accepting an apology from Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace for asking her yesterday, “Are you a flake?”
OMG, she must be playing the victim card and isn’t classy!!!! She needs to lighten up!!!!! This is so terrible, it’s uncivil, it….oh, wait a second
ABC News’ Jon Karl, who’s been getting face-time with Bachmann in Waterloo in advance of her formal campaign announcement, played a clip of the web video in which Wallace said, “I messed up. I’m sorry.”
When Karl asked if she accepts the apology, Bachmann brushed aside the question this way: “I think that it’s insulting to insinuate that a candidate for president is less than serious.”
Trying the question again, Bachmann replied, “Those are the small issues. I’m focused on the big ones.”
By my reckoning, Bachmann is not refusing to accept Chris Wallace’s apology, she is simply moving on to actual issues, and not getting stuck on interpersonal idiocy. But, hey, I’m glad the media is there to ask such serious questions.
And, let’s face it: does she have to accept the apology? Have you ever been insulted, then been apologized to, and just moved on? Of course, she is Michelle Bachmann, and the squishes in our Party simply hate an actual Conservative.
More: Something that occurred to me as I chased a little white dimpled ball around prior to globull warming thunderstorms: did Wallace bother to actually call Bachmann and apologize? Or, did he simply make a video for broadcast to all?
If I were Bachmann, I would have leaned across the table and slapped Wallace in the mouth while telling him to cut the crap attacks on women and saying that if Liberal NOW won’t stand up for my rights, I’ll goddamned well do it myself. Guaranteed she’d have 90% agreement the next day and be huge in the press.
Good point. In the private sector, that might have gotten Wallace a EEOC complaint.
Wallace probably sent her a wiener-twit. It’s the thing to do now.
