Climate heretic Judith Curry points to an interesting passage
…..What’s the goal of risk communication about climate change? To get people to ‘believe’? To see the issue the way the communicator wants them to? To get people to do what the communicator wants them to do? Or is it just to impart information so people can make up their own minds…which, frankly, sounds wonderfully moral and democratic and all, but…let’s be honest here…is less than what the people concerned about climate change really want. A lot of this conversation is about finding ways to get people to believe in climate change, and care about it enough to help promote change and progress and solutions.
I would think the goal would’ve to practice what you preach, to lead by example. Alas, the Warmists live for telling others what to do, and getting government to force others to Do Something.

Nope, alot of the conversation is to FORCE lawmakers to make new laws and regulations to erode freedom of choice from people to keep them from making the “undesirable” choice that the conversationalists hate.
Instead of education, they use the stick. Instead of leading by example, they use force of government will.
Thus, they are no different than a totalitarian dictatorship, that they admire.
