For Palin, September Becomes End Of October

This is why I’ve mostly given up on Sarah Palin as a viable presidential candidate: she refuses to take the plunge:

Sarah Palin seemed to give a November deadline for a decision on a 2012 bid.

Speaking to Sean Hannity on Fox News Tuesday night, Palin said there is still time but conceded that a deadline was rapidly approaching.

“There is still time, Sean, and I think on both sides of the aisle you’re going to see people coming and going from this race,” she said.

“In the Republican race, in this primary, I think people are still going to be coming and going because there is still time. And I’m still one of those still considering the time factor.”

Hannity asked if her if she didn’t need to make a decision by November. Her response: “You do, legally you do, because you have start getting your ducks lined up to have your name on these ballots.”

I love Palin as a politician, I’ve supported her. I was thrilled beyond belief when McCain picked her, having thought she would be an incredible VP pick wince the early part of 2008. She was an up and comer. Now? She seems unable to commit.

Now even I’m starting to lose my patience. Ah well, we do still have a slough of good candidates to choose from.

Does she have Glenn Rice’s blessing?

She has Glenn Rice’s blessings to go full steam ahead!

I watched part of the interview on Hannity last night. Palin was given a free shot to give her impressions of other candidates.

That is fine if she wants to be a talking head or a cheerleader.

I believe she still has the support of people as a person, but she has lost the support of many as a candidate.

Except that a recent McClatchy-Marist poll put her within 5 points of Obama. My guess is that her recent “anti-crony capitalism” themes have been reaching an audience. As for why she’s waiting so long to decide…

The sarcastic cynic in me wants to ask, ‘THIS November, or the first Monday of NEXT November?’

    Phineas,

    Did you miss this?

But it also showed a large majority of voters do not want her to enter the race.

According to the survey, 72 percent of Republicans and GOP-leaning independents don’t want her to run in 2012.

    Its from the same article.

No, I saw it, but I was making a quick reply from work and had the data about independents in the front of my mind. :)

    OUCH.. that’s gotta hurt.

Yeah, I’m starting to think maybe she meant November 2020. You know.. give her time to really consider if this is what she wants to do. You know… politicking. You know… being responsible.

Oh you poor babies…Gov Palin won’t do what you want.

  9. She really should have set herself up to run for Senator, served a term or two, then run for president. And if she was going to run for president, should have jumped in back in the late spring or early summer.

  10. Boyet says:

I dont care the date she will announce. I will always support for her.

  11. Ron says:

The moment she will announce i will campaign and vote for Gov. Palin.

  12. thelly M. says:

She has an excellent strategy… She knows better than many of us including the political experts. Sarah knows BEST.

  13. Reagan says:

Palin doesn’t owe to anybody when to declare her intention.
