Shameless, simply shameless. After listening to many wonderful speakers (and some who decided to interject their own political messages) discuss Martin Luther King, Jr., (NM)President Obama couldn’t resist interjecting his own far left politics and pandering
(Washington Times) Drawing parallels between civil rights legend Martin Luther King Jr. and his own leadership challenges, President Obama on Sunday dedicated a memorial to King on the Mall by saying King would have sympathized with activists demanding social justice from Wall Street.
“At this moment, when our politics appear so sharply polarized and faith in our institutions so greatly diminished, we need more than ever to take heed of Dr. King’s teachings,†said Mr. Obama, who praised King’s belief in the “creative tension of nonviolent protests.â€
“If he were alive today, I believe he would remind us that the unemployed worker can rightly challenge the excesses of Wall Street without demonizing all who work there,†the president said. “Those with power and privilege will often decry any call for change as divisive. They’ll say any challenge to the existing arrangements are unwise and destabilizing. Dr. King understood that peace without justice was no peace at all.â€
It’d be interesting if some news organization could interview some of the Occupy folks and see what they think of this pandering by Mr. Obama, and explain to them things like
Despite his rhetorical attacks on Wall Street, a study by the Sunlight Foundation’s Influence Project shows that President Barack Obama has received more money from Wall Street than any other politician over the past 20 years, including former President George W. Bush.
In 2008, Wall Street’s largesse accounted for 20 percent of Obama’s total take, according to Reuters.
Obama just released the names of huge bundlers. Think any of them work for Wall Street companies and banks? Is the Steve Goldman listed the same one who works for Goldman Sachs? In fact, Obama has hauled in $7.2 million from “securities and investment” firms for the 2012 cycle. We could probably go through lots of campaign data, but we all know what it will show: Obama, like most politicians, is bound at the hip to the same people/companies/industries that the Occupy movement hates. Let’s not forget

People heading to work today in some of Canada’s major cities may be greeted with a noisy reception as Occupy Canada protesters carry on protests they started during the weekend.
In Toronto, online postings suggested there may be two streams of protesters winding along downtown streets, including one group believed to be planning a 7 a.m. march to the city’s financial district.
I have said repeatedly……..the internet is the 666….it is leading to world wide anarchy.
It is coming….its a force that cannot be stopped.
No worries-the world ends December 2012 🙂 ….Can you imagine the hysteria over the Mayan prophecy from the left if a Republican wins?
My posting is not that the world is going to end. Its that the world as we know it is going to end.
Anarchy will rule. Its already hitting a 100 countries.
Pat Buchanan was on Hannity last night positing the same thing.
Im not saying God is returning in the next few years. What I am saying is that a world suddenly connected by internet is now a very scary place as everyone from the far corners of the earth realize how OPPRESSED they have been and scream for freedom.
The only problem is that each definition of FREEDOM is totally different then every other definition…..so comes the anarchy.
