This is the smallest studio apartment you can build in California, by law — 160 square feet — and it includes a bevy of space-saving measures.
…you realize they pay way, way, way to much for living space in the People’s Republic Of California. Of course, this is the kind of living space Warmists want Everyone Else to live in. That is, when they aren’t pushing homes more reminiscent of 1499. Video below the fold
According to the guy who uploaded the video at the Youtube page, “This first development breaking ground in March in SOMA (south of market area) will be rental units, starting at $1,595 month. Sounds high for the size though the average rent for a studio in SOMA is $2063.”
I seem to recall that those 160-sf boxes were built to shelter the homeless.
$1600 a month, huh? How’s that workin’ out for the homeless?
This crap about tiny homes has to end. I know exactly where this is going. Grist needs to run a few articles on the sizes of the homes of oh, Nancy Pelosi, Michael Moore, Chris Matthews, Barack Obama, Al Gore, etc. But they won’t because it’s better to fuel the fantasy than face the reality.
Try bringing a date home to a 160 sq ft apartment and see just how fast you’re single again.
Notice that virtually no Warmists/enviroweenies live in these places. They tend to like huge mansions, like where John Kerry, Obama, and Gore live.
How is it that “smart” became synonymous with “undersized and overpriced”?
