Just In Time For Grilling Season, Warmists Say To Cut Your Meat Intake

Of course, what they mean by meat intake, is that you need to be forced to do this in one fashion or another. They’ll use regulation, raising the price of meat, and awareness and shaming campaigns, but, won’t voluntarily reduce their own meat consumption

(Red Orbit) A proposed reduction in the world’s carbon emissions set by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) can only be met if the developed world cuts down meat consumption by 50 percent per person, according to new research from a Massachusetts-based climate initiative organization.

Scientists from the Woods Hole Research Center (WHRC), located in Falmouth, Mass., found in a new study that the world needs to not only cut meat consumption by 50 percent, but to also cut emissions by an equal amount by 2050, if we are to reduce the most dangerous of greenhouse gases (nitrous oxide – N2O) in our atmosphere.

N2O is the third highest contributor of climate change behind carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4); however, it is considered much more potent due to the fact it is an essential element in food production, meaning it cannot be controlled quite as easily as CO2 and CH4.

One of the top offenders of potent nitrous oxide is fertilizer used to grow crops in the agricultural industry. But because farming is much needed to feed the world’s growing population, which is projected to reach 9 billion by mid-century, it will be a difficult challenge to try to reduce the carbon footprint farming leaves on the world’s climate.

This story is making the rounds through both the legacy liberal media and Warmist blogs, but, interestingly, none of them are saying “I’ll help out by reducing my meat consumption.”

Davidson said such changes are dependent “not only on education about diet, but also on prices of meat. Some agricultural economists think that the price of meat is going to go way up, so that per capita consumption will go down, but those are highly uncertain projections.”

So, they are going to nag you to death. And find ways to raise your prices.

(PS: I know the graphic is about methane, not NO2)

Oh, and it is already a BS study, since the #1 greenhouse gas is water vapor.

Know what else is a “potent source” of Nitrous Oxide?

    Dentists. Oh, and drag racers.

As this is the week of Earth day, we have decided to have a large BBQ Sunday with meats as the main dish. Our anniversary is actually 4-22 and no I did not think that one out. So this just seems like the right thing to do and our libtarded neighbors down the street will love us for this.

Just to be sure I do my part for ED, I will using my old Weber that takes about two bags of briquets to fill up for proper grilling and long hour cooking. I will be using Old growth curly knot maple and Mesquite. I cut the maple years ago and it is excellent for smoking and grilling. That was way back when a guy could make a very decent living as a logger.

On the menu is pig, beef, elk, bacon, venison, a bit of moose, bacon, bear meat, yard bird and some wild turkey, oh yeah, a friend will be bringing over some wild caught salmon, Halibut and Ling Cod and bacon. All sorts of taters, corn and other stuff will be set out too. NO tofu or products from Whole Foods will be allowed and veg heads and vegans are welcome but we ain’t cookin’ anything special for them.

I am thinking that 50% reduction of meat intake is a joke, at least around our house it is. This is beef and rancher country.

We will also have a big bonfire with lots of pitchy wood. Too bad you are so far away Teach!

Where you get Lingcod? Used to eat it all the time when I was a kid. Ate a lot of self caught seafood living on the southern west coast.

And they can have my Prime Rib and Rib Eyes when they pry them out of my cold dead hands.

  4. We must ban dentists!!!!!

Love to be there, Patriot! Nothing like a good old fashioned cook out.

Technically, Mike, I think we can now classify meats as “arms”, meaning they are protected under the 2nd Amendment.

Local talk guy has been doing a “Red Meat Tour” once a month at local restaurants. He invites politicians and listeners to a night of dinner and discussion, and the red meat refers to the content of their discussions. None the less, some moron liberal in Boston wrote a scathing article about Republicans and a “food culture war” starting with Scott Brown stopping at a brewery and then driving his truck. Then she managed to link in the Red Meat Tour and the horrors of eating red meat! It’s so dumb, it’s hilarious. Read it for a good laugh!

I am in Central Oregon so we get Ling Cod from the coast. In this case it is from a buddy who’s uncle owns a couple of evil fishing boats up in Washington.

The Ling Cod and salmon will be delivered late Saturday as they are catching the Lingers as they move in to spawn close to the rocks along the coast.

Used to catch all our own when we lived in the valley but the libtards and treehuggers overran the place. I still catch Steelhead and salmon outta the lower Deschutes River.
