Even Leftist Chris Cizzilla is calling BS on the notion
(Washington Post) That President Obama lost roughly 40 percent of the vote in Democratic primaries in Arkansas, Kentucky and West Virginia over the last two weeks has drawn massive national headlines.
Those headlines have drawn a collective eyeroll from Democrats — and many others who closely follow national politics — who ascribe the underperformance by the incumbent to a very simple thing: racism.
No, none of these Democrats are willing to put their name to that allegation — either generally or for this story. But, it is, without question the prevalent viewpoint they hold privately.
They argue that conservative white Democrats — particularly those in the South and Appalachia — don’t want to vote for an African American for president and, therefore, are willing to cast a ballot for almost anyone else up to and including an incarcerated felon. (Keith Judd, we are looking at you.)
The problem with that theory is that it’s almost entirely unprovable because it relies on assuming knowledge about voter motivations that — without being a mindreader — no one can know.
Raaaaacism always seems to be the answer to why question when it revolves around Obama (or any minority Democrat, much like seeeeexism is the answer when it is a Democrat woman). Democrats never seem to understand that their far left policy positions which continuously push for more federal government control and higher taxes tend to annoy people who do not like being servants of the state. It can’t be that Obama is a SCOAMF who has presided over a recession that he made worse. $5 trillion in new debt. Massive deficits. Rampant unemployment. Historic amounts of people leaving the job market. Poor economic conditions. Rising consumer prices. No, it’s simply because Obama is half black.
Wizbang: Naturally the article brings up the infamous “Bigot Belt†graphic that showed Redneckland to be the only area of the nation that rejected Barack Obama outright in 2008. Certainly it wasn’t Obama’s elitism, or his anti-Americanism, or his sleazy Chicago cronies, or his youthful infatuation with cocaine and Marxist professors, or his long-time association with a radical domestic terrorist, or his membership in a church led by one of the most inflammatory Black separatist pastors in the country. Nah, it couldn’t possibly be any of those things that disinterested voters in the South. It must be because he is half African. Because that’s all we ever think about down here.
The Lonely Conservative: They even have maps “proving†the theory that white southerners don’t like Obama because he’s black. It has nothing to do with the fact that he’s a radical leftist whose policies have failed. Nope! They’re just a bunch of raaaaacists.
The GOP has called Obama’s primary performance The Big Fail.
Most people couldn’t give a damn about Obama’s “race”: they care about his policies. Which are are 99% failures and are moving America into a horrible position.

Did either state go for Obama in the 2008 election? If so, what was it that happened then, racism? STFU. This tact is not going to work out well for demorats. They’ve been beating so many dead horses with racism, it’s the new non-word. Good decent Americans, conservatives in particular, didn’t like being labeled such. However, now that they’ve de-sensitized the word by over usage, it hasn’t the same stigma, nor even the same meaning. It now means: “Anyone at all who disagrees with the policies of the sitting Demorat president.”
What else dovthey have, Trish? This is simply the whiniest of shiny distractions, meant to shut down debate and put Republicans and Conservatives on the defensive. But, like you said, it’s worn out, and we can fight back.
I want the Republicans or GOP/NRC to come out and angrily shame the President and the national media for calling half this nation Racists.
It is way past time for our elected Reps to stand up for our dignity and character. It should be shouted from the wells of Congress that it is unbecoming of a President to call us Racists without proof other than we do not approve of his policies.
I am sick of their lack of cahones.
