Yeah, I’m a bit pumped today
(NJ.com) The City of Angels is about to get a June visit from the Devils.
And the $100 million superstar whom the Los Angeles Kings were unable to sign two summers ago has issued a warning: Anything less than a Stanley Cup championship is unacceptable.
“It will be the worst if we lose. I don’t even want to think about it,†said Ilya Kovalchuk, who chose the Devils over the Kings when he was a free agent in 2010. “I think we can get the job done.
“We’re in the Stanley Cup Finals for a reason. (The Kings) have been really good on the road the whole playoffs, but I don’t think they’ve faced a team like us.â€
The Rangers would have to agree.
Ignoring the ghosts of 1994, when they lost the final two games of the Eastern Conference finals to their bitter rivals, the Devils booked a spot in the final round Friday night when rookie Adam Henrique scored after 1:03 of overtime for a 3-2 victory over the Rangers in Game 6 at the Prudential Center.
Game 1 is on Wednesday at 8pm in NJ. It’s simply amazing to me how far this team has come after the early collapse in the 2010-2011 season. They came back, and almost made the Playoffs. Now, a team which I figured was good to make it through the first round and bow out in the second is just 4 wins away from their 4th Lord Stanley’s Cup.
It’s hard to do, being a Devils fan, but, have to give credit to the Rangers for a tremendous series. They played hard, and they shouldn’t feel bad after what was a great season for them.
Adam Henrique, the final hero for the Devils in this series, did what ever player is supposed to do: keep his stick on the ice.
See. Another reason why we still need the Christian religion in America.
If a group of Devils can go around and beat up a good strong dedicated group of Texas Rangers, then there is still lots of work to do.
huh? … … what?
Heh!
