He won’t get it, obviously. Team Obama has nothing else to run on
(NY Times) Mitt Romney demanded an apology from President Obama on Friday for making what he called “reckless†and “absurd†allegations in an escalating battle over whether Mr. Romney’s business record included outsourcing American jobs.
After days in which the Obama campaign persistently goaded Mr. Romney and even raised questions about whether he might have broken the law by lying on a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Mr. Romney finally hit back hard, giving five television interviews in which he said the attacks on him were “beneath the dignity of the presidency.â€
“What kind of a president would have a campaign that says something like that about the nominee of another party?†Mr. Romney said to CBS News. In an interview with ABC News, he added: “He sure as heck ought to say that he’s sorry for the kinds of attacks that are coming from his team.â€
Team Obama is continuing to double down on the attacks, saying Mitt has to answer every one of their questions about Bain, which is interesting since Obama refuses to get into details about his time in Jeremiah Wright’s church, his time in college, his work as a community organizer, working with ACORN, etc and so on. And, if Team Obama wants to talk about a felony, well, they should refer to Obama saying that he used cocaine, which is…..a felony!
But, again, what else can Obama campaign on? Raising taxes? The very unpopular Obamacare? His failed Stimulus? 8.2% unemployment, with a real rate around 14%? A historic number of people abandoning the jobs market in despair? Real savings at historic lows? Adding $5,000,000,000,000 to the debt and counting? Huge deficits? Annoying our allies? Rising food and energy prices? Rising medical and health insurance prices? Low GDP and consumer confidence? What can he campaign on?
He doesn’t even have much red meat for his base. He failed to close Gitmo. He’s launching drone strikes, which his base terms “assassinations.” He launched a war of choice in Libya. He expanded Afghanistan. He has military operations in lots of countries.
Sorry Teach base still supports him. BUT the Republican base is going squishy soft on Mitt. The Rep Gov of Georgia is even telling him to release his tax forms. And Teach when Obama was a “community organizer” he was working for the Catholic Church. Got a problem with that ?
U6 is reported to be 14.9%. I’d bet it should be higher. The U2 of 8.2% is idiotic since almost all demographics are in double-digit unemployment.
Instead of just complaining to the pro-Democrat Socialist Democrat Media Party, they should file a complaint to the FEC. Take a stand against these tactics.
Bullies can’t just be ignored or asked to play nice. They need to be given a bloody nose.
He needs to turn it around on Obama during these enemy-incursion events, like you say. Romney needs to suggest, well, if he can call what I file a felony, then what would you call bypassing the Constitution and the Congress to impose his own laws. Or his preference of what laws to perform.
Recently, his decision to go against the 1996 law imposing work-for-welfare.
Congress should also stand up against this. Tyranny must be fought against on all sides. It can’t just be hoped that it will disappear.
Yeah john I have a problem with it. The Catholic Church was doing an out reach to help people in the community. People were avoiding the help because it was portrayed as coming from “white folks.” Only when the Catholic Church hired black organizers did Obama get his position.
In other words, Obama got the position of a “community organizer” due to the color of his skin.
Most people would call that racism.
