If anyone thinks this is about a film that came out months ago, they’re sadly deluded
(Reuters) Sudanese demonstrators broke into the German embassy in Khartoum on Friday, raising an Islamic flag and setting the building on fire in a protest against a film that demeaned the Prophet Mohammad, witnesses said.
Police had earlier fired tear gas to try to disperse some 5,000 protesters who had ringed the German embassy and nearby British mission. But a Reuters witness said policemen just stood by when the crowd forced its way into Germany’s mission.
Demonstrators hoisted a black Islamic flag saying in white letters “there is no God but God and Mohammed is his prophet”. They smashed windows, cameras and furniture in the building and then started a fire, witnesses said.
Ed Morrissey writes
Apparently, the insistence by the West that they deplore religious debate isn’t working out terribly well. The more this expands, the less it looks like a flash of grassroots anger, and more like coordination.
And then we get
(Telegraph) 14.08 (09.08 A demonstrator has been killed and 25 people hurt after an angry crowd of Islamists set fire to a KFC restaurant in northern Lebanon. The crowd of 300 attacked on the US fast-food chain’s outlet came as Pope Benedict XVI arrived in Lebanon for a three-day visit, calling for Christian-Muslim coexistence and attacking religious extremism.
Not sure what one has to do with the other, besides the fact that the Islamists use any excuse to riot, vandalize, burn, and kill. Check out the picture at the Telegraph link regarding protesters attempting to burn the wall at the Cairo embassy: notice the al Qaeda stylized head band.
The British embassy in Khartoum was also under attack. American embassies in Tunis and Sudan are under attack.
And what’s Obama up to?

And he has a light schedule today, with another fundraiser tonight. Can we even call this leading from behind when there isn’t even a hint of leadership?
More: The Obama administration has asked YouTube to look into the video to see if it violates the TOS. This is what’s called “censorship.”
As the Jawa Report points out, the Obama admin was conspicuously absent when the play “The Book Of Mormon” was winning Tony awards for defaming the Mormon religion.
I wonder whose next? The French for the Burka law? Or maybe Norway, Sweden, Denmark or Finland. I guarantee you someone will be next. Their leaders love it because it redirects the peoples anger away from their own plight and poverty. Amazing! The do the same “victimhood” stuff that liberal-progressives do!!!
We are my friend. We are. My pessimistic view? USA re-elects Obama and the terror expands and blows up here. Literally.
That perfectly describes the Democratic Socialist Media Party pretty well.
I note that even up to 5pm, on drive home from work, the hourly national news updates featured that it was still the film as the cause for assassinations in Libya.
The media probably figures that it would be dangerous (physically to themselves) to mention that the Islamists are very violent, even murderous, because Islam is the religion of peace, and if you say otherwise, the Islamists will kill you.
What I find abhorrent, is that those who we protected for the sake of freedom of speech, who’s duty is to expose lies and corruption, (the press)…
… are destroying that right by claiming their demonization of this film-maker is a protection of rights. That his unconstitutional movie is a hate crime so vile that he must be brought to justice because of the action of non-US citizens.
And yet, they also KNOW that these assassinations were not even tied to some stupid minor home-made video. But, they sold out what was left of their souls in attacking and sabotaging Mitt Romney and vilifying the film maker.
