It must be nice to own a few mcmansions, drive in convoys, and take lots of fossil fueled air travel. And crack. Lots of crack
(Al’s Journal) “Over the past several months, extreme weather and climate events in the form of heat waves, droughts, fires, and flooding have seemed to become the norm rather than the exception. In the past half-year alone, millions of people have been affected across the globe –from Europe suffering from the worst cold snap in a quarter century; to extreme flooding in Australia, Brazil, China, and the Philippines; to drought in the Sahel. Records have been broken monthly in the continental United States, with the warmest spring and 12-month period experienced this year and severe fires and drought affecting large swaths of the country.â€
So buy carbon credits, that way Al can get more money for his massive carbon footprint life.
Isn’t the Sahel a desert? And, hasn’t this area known for extreme dry seasons and famine? Haven’t we heard about the starving africans and Sudanese in this area due to the inability to grow food??
I’m sorry, but after 30 years, my sympathy is gone. If you want to live in a desert, whose only survival depends on the food and water charity of people from around the world, why should we continue to cry for you when you STAY there and choose to raise a family there?! If you can’t find any food or water where you live,… MOVE. May I suggest a glacier? It will at least be cooler.
And again, please tell me how things that have occurred before is worrisome now?
What next? Are we to worry and buy credit for and increased risk of death for people approaching a life range of 100 years?
That reminds me of the old Sam Kinnison rant about Ethiopians living in a desert. Don’t bring them food. Bring them trucks and move them.
