Now it’s personal! Well, not so much, I’ve only eaten one a few times, and, quite frankly, living down South affords much better pork sandwiches, but, hey, some people are really as crazed to eat them as the TV commercials show. Alas…
(Clarion Ledger) The McRib sandwich is traditional McDonald’s fare, appearing on the menu seasonally from late October through early November. But not this year. The McDonald’s McRib is delayed until late 2012, and there is only global warming to blame.
It’s true, according to a report in Ad Age. In a memo obtained from the publication from McDonald’s Operators National Advertising Fund, which represents McDonald’s national franchise council, the McRib was originally scheduled to be marketed Oct. 22 through Nov. 11 this year.
It’s been put off till the 4th quarter, closer to Christmas
The reason: last year’s mild late fall and winter — one of the warmest ever recorded in the U.S. — made for dull sales in the fourth quarter for McDonald’s. This year, the company wants an extra sales push to make sure the same flat quarter doesn’t occur again.
It’s so horrible, hotcoldwetdry is killing McDonald’s business…..hey, wait
McDonald’s reported a fourth-quarter profit of $1.38 billion, or $1.33 per share, up almost 11 percent from a year earlier and compared to analysts’ call for a profit of $1.30 a share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Revenue rose 10 percent to $6.82 billion.
Um, it sure looks like MickeyD’s did rather well during 4Q2011, instead of the supposed “flat sales.” Warmists just make crap up.
It would explain recent events, though
