The other day Obama yammered on about carbon pollution during a speech in Ohio, saying that was the reason he was running for president again. And then in Florida

(CNS News) President Barack Obama warned his supporters about the threat of global warming and vowed that more money to subsidize green energy firms would prevent it.

“By the way, yes, my plan will reduce the carbon pollution that is eating our planet because climate change is not a hoax,” Obama said at a campaign rally at the Bank United Arena at the University of Miami. “More droughts and hurricanes and wildfires, that’s not a joke. That’s a threat to our children’s future, and we can do something about it.”

We are currently in the longest period in US recorded history of no Category 3 hurricane strikes. Hurricane and tropical storm strikes are down. Most tropical systems aren’t making it to landfall anywhere. The only reason we know about the ones at sea is due to more and better satellites. Tornadoes are way down. Drought and wildfires aren’t any more unusual.

But, hey, the guy who’s flying all over the country on fossil fueled airplanes and taking fossil fueled limos with lots of fossil fueled SUVs surrounding his limo is concerned. Mostly with making sure his campaign contributors get some payback.
