Sacrificial lamb? Under the bus? Or, someone in the Obama administration who actually is willing to take responsibility?
(CNN) Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the bucks stops with her when it comes to who is blame for a deadly assault on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi.
“I take responsibility” for what happened on September 11, Clinton said in an interview with CNN’s Elise Labott soon after arriving in Lima, Peru for a visit. The interview, one of a series given to U.S. television networks Monday night, were the first she has given about the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.
Clinton insisted President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are not involved in security decisions, Clinton said.
Well, did anyone think that Obama or Biden, as POTUS and VPOTUS, would actually be involved with anything under their purview?
- The Other McCain wonders about Hillary diving on a Benghazi grenade….hey, grenades are green, and that’s racist towards Martians.
- Allahpundit has a few thoughts.
- Jammie Wearing Fool points out that Hillary bravely did her Sir Robin impression and fled the country before taking responsibility.
- Weasel Zippers says “how convenient”
- Doug Ross has a few pointed questions for Hillary
- Ace points out that Hillary also dodged responsibility
BTW, if Hillary really was taking full responsibility she’d resign right now.
Anyhow, I’m thinking…
Jennifer Rubin also has some pointed questions. Here’s two of mine I’d like answered
- If this was originally a spontaneous uprising, what did they think about all of the Salafist flags being shown, and then raised above our Consulate (not too mention all the flags and headbands during protests around the world)?
- Benghazi was considered increasingly dangerous for Westerners, plus al Qaeda was all over the place: why, exactly, was our Ambassador to Libya wandering around there with virtually no security? Hell, most Ambassadors to the USA wander around with more security in D.C.

hahahahahaha.. yeah, except mr pissy pants is always involved. The buck stops with him. The boot will be on the neck of those responsible, remember.
He is the man in charge after all. He is the boss. I really can’t believe he would actually allow her to be thrown under the bus. Actually, I bet he demanded it.
Actually, I think she just burned him; she put an exclamation point on the widely-held opinion that teh Unicorn King is so far in over his head that she’s the only adult in the entire administration, so why give him four more feckless years?
When Bush was pres, he was responsible for every little and big thing that happened under his watch; the Dems and their propaganda arm made sure it was widely known whose fault it was.
Obama gets to play the blame game on every single foul up and has sycophants willing to lay under his bus, and therefore he never takes blame. He does however take credit, and may have in fact with his crowing about how HE got Bin Laden, be directly responsible for the attack on the embassy on 9/11.
I hate the hypocrisy and I hate the criminal media.
I think we have to remember we are talking about two different and distinct elements here.
1) The security at the consulate is the responsibility of the State Department. Decisions for the security have never been made at the White House. In essence, the State Department, under Hillary made a huge mistake and one for which someone must pay. At the same time, it was a mistake. A case can be made it was not deliberate.
2) The statements AFTER the attack. State Department officials have denied they were told anything by the “intelligence community” placing blame on the video. No one in the intelligence community has owned up to making that claim and in fact, there are rumblings in the intelligence community that they were thrown under the bus by the State Department and the White House.
The point I am trying to make is that the initial decision to lessen security at the consulate was a bad one but the lies and the coverups by the administration are much worse and it is something for which they and they alone are responsible.
Good point penguin.
Trish, Gitarcarver, I agree. The initial decisions and denials throughout this year rest solely with the State Department. However, the WHITE HOUSE was told the day of the attack about Libya and Egypt. Remember the stories about how Obama went to bed and then on to campaigning the day after being told that Stevens was assassinated?
This White House knew from day one that something bad happened, and then IT SHOULD have known a day or two after that the history of Benghazi. But then we know that President not-my-job does not read or listen to briefing reports. Events don’t happen when you stick your fingers in your ears.
And, I think that is just about as glaring a character flaw if this administration didn’t get the information after the attacks. And, if a month following the attack, they still have not pressed to get all the information necessary……. then people need to know that as well.
