Nice to see that someone gets it
(Daily Caller) During an address to the Ripon Society on Tuesday, Boehner revealed that Holtz consulted him via text messages on Monday night following Obama’s inauguration.
“Last night, I got a three-page text from my good friend Lou Holtz, who must have watched the inaugural and then all that blabber on TV…: ‘I’m done, finished, the country’s over with — we’re not doing this again!,’†Boehner recounted.
The text was not the first time Holtz voiced pessimism about the president.
“Now, I had already had this conversation with Lou about nine or ten days after the election. He came in to speak to our 34 new members. And before he went over to talk to them, he came over to my office, and he was moaning and groaning,†Boehner said. “I said, ‘Lou, would you stop it? We’re Americans, we’ll figure this out!’ And I had to spend 15 minutes giving Lou Holtz a pep talk! I had to do it again last night!â€
And how did Boehner respond?
“While we want to stand up and fight for more fiscal responsibility, want to stand up and find a way to move tax reform that will help our economy grow, to do the things we believe in, we’re going to be doing it in an environment that is going to be far more hostile than anything that I think we’ve seen for a long, long time.â€
Over the years I’ve been a supporter of John Boehner’s, but, right now he’s the wrong guy for the job. The GOP has always been the rational, adult, calm, cool, and collected Party, particularly since around the time Clinton was going through the impeachment process, in opposition to the Democrats who’ve been unhinged barking moonbats. Being the real adult in the room is no longer working. If it worked, we’d be calling Mitt Romney president. It’s beyond time for the GOP to use the same tactics as the Democrats. They’re damned if they do damned if they don’t in most of the US media, so it is time to get down and get dirty and start attacking. Get a bit unhinged. Get forceful. Get outspoken. Because if we don’t Holtz’s view is the one that will occur, not Boehner’s “hey, we’ll eventually figure this out.” A majority of Americans have figured out that they can vote themselves largess from other people.
Republicans have to get people to pay attention to how bad the conditions are in this country. We’re essentially broke. And will get broker. Unemployment is terrible, with record numbers having quit the jobs market in despair, along with record long term unemployment. Spending is out of control. Our liberties keep being destroyed inch by inch. And so many other problems. And only a small segment is concerned. But, when it’s Beyonce lip syncing or a football player having an imaginary girlfriend? People are tuned in and outraged.

Yeah, you can tell when the media don’t want to report the news, they STICK to an odd story instead. Like Beyonce’s lipsyncing. Who cares. Don’t care. It’s been done and acceptable during bad weather days. So what.
But, let’s not talk about the nastiness of Obama’s speech. The words he used. The attacks he leveled. The class-warfare he promised. The devastation to our energy-based economy he proposes.
And, this starts with our own leadership. We need new young aggressive leaders to lead and attack the massive media machine. Continuing to use the old guard, the go-along-to-get-along mentality is deadly to conservative message and fiscal sanity.
We need leaders that will stand up and state the fact that the Democrats are Socialists and are antithetical to America, their bills are unconstitutional and how the Socialists wants are attacking each and every inalienable right.
We don’t need leaders that are squish and say, “well, we can talk about it during a national conversation”
Teach the GOP has turned in the National Lampoon political party. Truthers tea vangelists secessionists and endless list far far removed from the Grand Old Party it used to be.The party that is now known as the start the war party. One of the more sane things that they did do was to essentially remove from their rosters Bush Cheney and Palin. The GOP has become the party of stupid.
