They’re so amusing at that age
(The Hill) House Democrats will make a series of speeches on the House floor in the coming weeks to call for a congressional response to climate change.
“There are a number of us who plan on speaking every day on the House floor on the need for Congress to take action on climate change,” Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) said on the House floor.
“There should be complete consensus on the science of climate change — that the higher concentrations of greenhouse gasses over the past 50 years are due to human activity, that the rapid increase in global temperature could not have been caused by natural factors alone, and that the severe temperatures and extreme weather events we’ve experienced in recent years, including the devastation wrought by Hurricane Sandy, all fit into the predictive pattern of global climate change.”
Yeah, but there’s not “complete consensus”, because the actual science is not on your side, and, consensus is political, not scientific.
Earlier in the day, Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) said on the floor that a new study from Harvard University and Oregon State University shows that the Earth is hotter now than it has been in the last 11,300 years. He said the use of engines and turbines over the last 100 years has caused more warming than in the last 100 centuries combined.
Say, I wonder how DeFazio and Moran get to work? Would I be out of line in suggesting fossil fueled travel?
Teach “warmists” seek a reduction not perfection
Right john. They seek a reduction in freedom, a reduction in understanding science, and a reduction in economic growth.
On the other hand, they seek and increase in contol, an increase in unfunded mandates, an increase in wasteful spending, and a massive increase in hypocrisy.
In other words: “I like pie”
Must be nice to live in dreamland where we can pretend reality doesn’t exist. We are no where near close to being hottest. We may not even be in the top 10. IN fact, aren’t we coming back up to baseline for the period covering the last some 50K years?
Hey john, would you rather have temps of today, or the vast frozen earth? Or the times in the past years when Earth was 5C warmer than now?
Hey john, can you point to a time when Earth’s temperature was more stable than it is now?
John, if you buy an apple from a store, take it home and set it on your counter. Over time it gets older and decays, right? Is it doing so because you bought the apple? Or is it nature? Sure, you can claim to want to hold it in a status stable state, but can you? And at what state? The state before you bought it? When you touched it? When you placed it on the counter? And if you prevent that apple from changing, aren’t you harming the cycle of change that renews and refreshes all life on the planet?
