Well, actually appears more as a big GFYS
(Charlotte Observer) Rowan County commissioners, facing the prospect of a long and costly legal battle with the American Civil Liberties Union, held their ground Monday and opened their meeting with a prayer that included the words “personal Lord and Savior, Jesus.â€
Later in the meeting, the board voted unanimously to hire legal defense for a battle against the ACLU.
Monday’s prayer opened a meeting that packed the chambers in the Rowan County Administration Building.
Yeah, as you can guess this is the standard ACLU mule fritters about “separation between church and state”, and you know what a pant load that argument is. No reason to rehash. Here’s what the NC Declaration of Rights has to say
All persons have a natural amd inalienable right to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of their own consciences, and no human authority shall, in any case whatever, control or interfere with the rights of conscience.
In other words, jackhole secularists who create their own Rights in their posteriors need to butt out of people’s religious real right to express those leanings, even if it involves government meetings. All the Rowan folks are doing is offering a prayer, which almost no one objects to. They aren’t instituting formal religious requirements for citizens.
DAMN STRAIGHT!!!!!
If you got a state that wants to put in its own constitution that they are free to worship the evil muslim “god” allah, as they do in Michigan, then more power to them.
OT:
If the states agree that the Federal Supremacy clause no longer applies, can they ignore it? Since the states are the ones that give the Feds authority\permission to be in existence in the first place?
Isn’t it funny that certain groups demand we follow the Supremacy Clause when it comes to Immigration laws and restrictions, but are next to push states’ rights when it comes to ignoring drug laws or marriage laws.
Well about 150 years ago some states tried pretending that US Constitution only applied to them when they wanted it applied. Didn’t work out for them so well, did it?
Yeah, funny thing about that, John, is that those who seceded became the modern Democrat party.
Rowan County had a fearsome rep for lynching blacks
http://www.southernspaces.org/2012/lynching-and-local-history-review-troubled-ground
They even did the seldom TRIPLE lynchings.
So john, are you trying to show support for lynching? We know based on prior posts that you are against women, blame the jews for… most ills of the world, and are a racist.
But, in reality, the secession was over state’s rights. THere were other issues besides the question of slavery. And yes, it was liberals who instituted slavery in the US. And, it was a black man that first put it to the liberal judge to force another black man, who ran away from his indentured servitude, to be mandated to serve for life.
A disgusting and horrendous betrayal of the constitution and of what humanity stood for.
But, we are glad that you are hear john to continue to show us why we must continue our fight to show certain portions of our populace that slavery is bad.
No i don’t even live in Rowan County thank fully. I am just showing historically that tehy have always been…. rather conservative politically. as for blaming Jews, really GC Jews are one of the solid bases of teh modern Democratic Party. They voted 70% for Obama Why would I hate them ? Now GC do YOU hate them ? they are liberals? and they did vote for Obama? and they do believe in liberal positions like climate change? And was it northern conservatives who fought against slavery?
hahaha GC progressives had to fight a civil war to show the South that fact.
Once again, john is just trying to distract from the issue.
In his mind, the lynchings of minorities that we all condemn as a violation of human rights and more mean we should support the violation ofbthe rights of people when it comes to religious expression.
It it typical liberal hypocrisy from john. While conservativrs care and want to protect all rights, john only wants rights in which he believes and believes liberals should control.
Nope, he’s just trying to deflect the conversation, especially away from the Fact that it was Democrats involved in racist policies post civil war.
