If only there were people who told us this stuff before they passed the Affordable (snicker) Care Act
(Daily Caller) Under the Affordable Care Act, medical claim costs, the largest driver of health insurance premiums, are expected to increase by 32 percent for individuals, a new study by the Society of Actuaries finds.
Though some states might see declines in cost-per-person medical claims, the report found “the overwhelming majority will see double-digit increases in their individual health insurance markets, where people purchase coverage directly from insurers,†The Associated Press reports.
And guess who will be the biggest recipients of the cost increase? Yeah, all those youths who voted for Obama. How ya liking that hopey changey stuff now? And here’s HHS Commissar Kathy Sebelius
(WSJ) Some people purchasing new insurance policies for themselves this fall could see premiums rise because of requirements in the health-care law, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told reporters Tuesday.
Ms. Sebelius’s remarks come weeks before insurers are expected to begin releasing rates for plans that start on Jan. 1, 2014, when key provisions of the health law kick in. Premiums have been a sensitive subject for the Obama administration, which is counting on elements in the health law designed to increase competition among insurers to keep rates in check. The administration has pointed to subsidies that will be available for many lower-income Americans to help them with the cost of coverage.
Fortunately, people only need to fill out a 61+ page document to apply. Even funnier, Debbie Downer blames Republicans for the ever-increasing cost of Obamacare.
What? The gub’ment takes something over and it gets more expensive? Never seen that before. /snark
Yeah, I was shocked!
Healthcare costs have ALWAYS gone up. 30% of our healthcare dollar goes for “administration” most other industrialized countries have about 5% go to administration.
Yet, we were told that costs would not go up if we passed Obamacare, John. So, what happened?
You have to love the thinking of liberals like john.
Obamacare was passed on the premise that more people would be covered and costs would be lowered. That isn’t happening so they blame “administrative costs” for the rise in costs. And what drives those administrative costs up?
Government regulations.
John and people of his ilk just can’t bring themselves to say “we were wrong” like mature adults do.
(And yeah, I know “mature liberal” is an oxymoron.”)
We were promised that costs would go down John.
We were promised that most would not pay one dime more John.
We were promised that we could keep our doctors John.
We were promised that we could keep our current plans John.
We were promised that this fine would not be a tax John.
We were promised that this tax is no way a FINE for not doing something John.
We were promised that if we just passed the 2,100 page bill that takes years and years to read and understand that we would finally know what was passed John.
We were promised that costs incurred by insurance companies and healthcare providers would not be passed down to subscribers John.
We were told that illegal felon border crossers would not be eligible for this John.
We were told that without this plan, we would lose doctors John.
We were told that this will end red tape John.
It was all lies. Lies do not reduce administrative red tape. Lies drive up costs. Lies are not “cost of living”.
