So, Julian Castro is a very far left Democrat who has worked for the racist Hispanic group La Raza United, which his mother helped found. Said group wants parts of the Southwest split off to be an exclusionary nation. And now he writes
(Politico) Members of Congress have returned to our nation’s capital after a two-week break for the Easter holiday. And now that they’re all back, they should immediately address one of the most pressing issues facing our country: the need for responsible and comprehensive immigration reform.
As the grandson of an immigrant orphan from Mexico who found opportunity in this great country, and as mayor of our nation’s seventh-largest city – a community that looks like the Texas and America of tomorrow – I’m constantly reminded that immigration is more than a political issue. It’s who we are. (Snip)
To fix our broken immigration system in a responsible way, we must do at least three things. We need to further strengthen border security, we need to streamline the legal immigration process so law-abiding companies can get the workers they need in today’s global economy, and we need to create a path to citizenship to bring the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants in this country out of the shadows and into the full light of the American Dream.
In other words, amnesty for people who laugh at the laws of the United States and come here illegally. And those elected officials who likewise ignore The Law.
But, hey, I actually know of a way that these illegals could become legal US residents: they could go back to wherever the hell they came from and then apply for work visas or citizenship. And they can take this racist mayor with them.
The only thing that’s broken is the politics, where the law is ignored.
Amen brother!!
Few things:
When did we lose 10 million illegals?
So, in order to get illegal felons legal, we should forgive their felonies and allow them to “come out”? Does that mean that these liberals will be ok with a full blanket amnesty for all current felons?
Isn’t it unfair and unequal treatment to give amnesty for breaking the law to people who are felons illegally here, but not to the felons who are natural or legal citizens?
Thought liberals were all about equal treatment?
I’d agree to this only if:
1) Immediate and future funding guaranteed for 50foot high and deep southern border fence.
2) Tripling Border Patrol ranks and amnesty for next 20 years for shooting of illegals on American soil who are evading Border Patrol.
3) They not be allowed to vote for 20 years
4) Unable to purchase a firearm for 20 years
5) unable to access any state or federal welfare or GRANTS for 20 years
6) pay max penalty. (can’t claim back taxes, because if we know where they’ve been working, then wouldn’t that mean the feds are complicit in their illegally working in USA?)
7) Recipients of amnesty can not bring in any family member from foreign lands.
8) Any felony conviction within 20 years will dissolve amnesty agreement
9) Any felony conviction will mean immediate deportation at family’s expense (via armed IRS agents)
10) No amnesty until Fence is complete and whole.
11) Watering holes are illegal.
12) No money to promote american welfare to foreign nations
13) No money for documents to assist foreigners in crossing border
14) No Consular ID cards
15) All current bank accounts held by illegals will be seized as “money-laundering”
give me time I’ll think of more…..
I hate this clown. Not only is he my mayor, his twin brother is my congressman. April 1st we started paying higher sales taxes to pay for pre-K which is been proven that by the 4th grade to make no difference.
Between La Raza, MALDEF and LULAC we will continue to get clowns like him.
50% of all the “illegal” people came here legally and were admitted legally. However, they are now out of status having overstayed. that in itself is a violation of immigration law, not criminal law.
As for what some may “want” well sorry GC that a int gonna happen, but maybe if you went down with some friends you could start working on that wall thing. Sounds like a pretty big project. The multi billion dollar wall so far hasn’t seemed to do much good.
Even if your facts are true john, at least you admit that they are here illegally. And, yes, immigration law is criminal law. Crossing our border illegally is a felony. Last time I looked, a felony is a criminal violation.
Or, are you suggesting that now people who commit felonies are no longer criminals?
