(The Hill) President Obama, echoing his new Energy secretary’s recent comments, said late Wednesday that he’s open to new climate policy ideas but has no interest in battling over whether climate change is real.
“If I’ve got somebody who has a different approach to dealing with climate change — I don’t have much patience for people who deny climate change, but if you’ve got creative approaches, market-based approaches, tell me about them,†Obama said at a Democratic fundraiser in Chicago.
I’d guess Obama has no patience for himself, since he is actually denying “climate change”
But Obama may have invited fresh debate Wednesday by noting, “We also know that the climate is warming faster than anybody anticipated five or 10 years ago.â€
Surface air temperatures have increased more slowly than predicted over the last 10 to 15 years, leading to ongoing analysis among scientists of reasons why, such as the role of oceans in heat uptake and other factors.
As I’ve written time and time again, according to the Met Office data the world temperature has risen a tiny 0.28F since 1990 and 0.14F since 1997. If the Modern Warm Period is so horrible, why aren’t Vikings farming in Greenland? The temperatures are not warm enough now to do what the Vikings did back during the Medieval Warm Period.
If Obama is really concerned, he can start by not taking the constant fossil fueled flights criss-crossing the county followed by huge motorcades, all for short campaign style appearances or fund-raisers. Oh, and big motorcades to go play golf. And turn that AC off in the White House, because it is Bad for hotcoldwetdry. Open the windows, catch the fresh air. Stop using washers and driers, which are also bad for hotcoldwetdry. The White House has huge grounds, perfect for line drying.

Teach the United States has had a cold spring BUT the rest of the planet has been pretty HOT In fact April was the 13th HOTTEST EVER RECORDED The year to date Jan-April has been the 8th HOTTEST EVER RECORDED. yeah yeah it snowed on Memorial day. Teach you have to look at teh BIG PIVTURE not cherry picking facts to suit your own conclusion.

The combined average temperature over global land and ocean surfaces for April 2013 was the 13th warmest on record, at 0.52°C (0.94°F) above the 20th century average of 13.7°C (56.7°F).
The global land surface temperature was 0.71°C (1.28°F) above the 20th century average of 8.1°C (46.5°F), marking the 17th warmest April on record. For the ocean, the April global sea surface temperature was 0.44°C (0.79°F) above the 20th century average of 16.0°C (60.9°F), tying with 2001 and 2009 as the seventh warmest April on record.
The combined global land and ocean average surface temperature for the January–April period (year-to-date) was 0.56°C (1.01°F) above the 20th century average of 12.6°C (54.8°F), tying with 2009 as the eighth warmest such period on record.

The Big joke on Palin when she was on McCain’s ticket was that the lefties said she thought the Earth was only 2,600 years-old. Yet, the climate change fundamentalists act like the Earth is only 130 years-old (when temperatures started being recorded). They’ll put recording instruments on the rooftops of buildings in the middle of urban heat islands and act as if they’re surprised that temperatures have gone up. You definitely can’t fix stupid when it’s combined with a hardcore ideological agenda.
Good thing he is a president of all the people, and not just his own self.
