The NC Senate has proposed a few simple voting changes
Senate Republican leaders are planning to take a voter ID bill and add provisions that cut early voting by a week, repeal same-day registration, allow counties to limit Sunday voting, end pre-registration of 16- and 17-year-olds and end straight-ticket voting.
Other provisions increase the maximum donation to political candidates from $4,000 to $5,000, with future increases indexed to inflation, and limit disclosure of money spent by outside political groups that air political TV ads and send mass mailings.
It differs a big from what the House is thinking, such restricting the use of college IDs to vote (Senate against, House for). These are simply a few common sense regulations to avoid voter fraud, so, of course the liberal harpies are shrieking, and they all have the same talking point: voter suppression. 4 of those 5 links say it in their headlines.
This is all interesting, because these same loons want massive restrictions on our 2nd Amendment rights, to the point of banning private ownership of guns. Buy any basic checks on voting? Moonbat Level 11.
this “voter fraud” thing??? is their any proof or even indication that it is a problem and that this bill will solve it ? Teach the 2nd Amendment like all (except for the 3rd) has ALWAYS had restrictions on it. No guns in Dodge City cowboy, gotta leave them with the sheriff. Sorry Teach no explosive rounds either and no IEDs Certainly the 2nd protsct these “arms” too. I mean how else can we prevent TYRANNY And expl;osive suicide vests??? if we were allowed to wear them who would dare shoot at you?
no guns in the Senate ? or on airplanes?? what would the Founding fathers have to say about that ?
I will consider dropping my objections to all the restrictions currently in place for 2nd amendment rights five years after the baby-killing, vote-fraud loving Left implements any restrictions on their so-called Sacred Cows. However, we all know the likelihood of that is on par with the Cubs winning the World Series and hotcoldwetdry having deliterious effects on Hades.
Teach the 2nd Amendment like all (except for the 3rd) has ALWAYS had restrictions on it.
Except for that pesky phrase “shall not be infringed.” Check a dictionary.
Good luck with that, Sly. Liberals do not even want women to have abortions in clean, safe facilities. For some reason they think requiring those means Conservatives are trying to “roll the country back 50 years” and make it so women can only get back alley abortions.
Allowing college IDs to be used for voting? OMG. That would be the same as allowing Embassy ID cards, or community college ID cards, or Debit Cards.
This is what is considered as “working with the Dems”. By allowing something that can’t prove citizenship….. insanity.
I know, Mr. Teach. But, that is my point. They always screech that we should be able to compromise on “common sense” restrictions on a right that is clearly delineated with “shall not be infringed”, but they absolutely refuse to let vowel/consonant sounds reach their ears over such issues as clean abortion facilities, requiring an ultrasound, etc. (when abortions is not an enumerated right) or providing ID to prove you are a US citizen to exercise your voting rights (when you have to provide ID for everything else, including to use those government goodies that liberals love to hand out). I’m sick and tired of this crap with liberals. They will never compromise. So, why should I?
did NC havew a significant problem in the past with voter fraud? if it did why was it never discovered?
Probably for the same reason your illness has not been solved, john.
