Remember when he said that he would spend every waking moment working on the economy? Then gave a couple speeches before heading out on a 1%er vacation? Now that he’s “back”, what does he do?
(Daily Caller) With his poll ratings down, President Barack Obama is taking a two-day road trip to show sympathy for those hit hard by rising university costs during his four-and-a-half-year tenure.
The trip will allow him to make three speeches in New York on Thursday, and speak at two town halls and at one speech in Pennsylvania on Friday.
“At each stop, the President will discuss the importance of ensuring that every American has the opportunity to achieve a quality education by reducing cost and improving the value of higher education for middle-class students and their families,†a White House statement said.
Well, that’s great! Too bad there are few jobs available for all these people who get a college education, and a good chunk are low paying part time jobs.
Even if he doesn’t increase his ratings, he’s expected to use the speeches to continue his sharp invective against the GOP.
So, we should probably expect this to be the typical Neverending Campaign speeches, rather than the type one would expect from the POTUS. He’ll smear the GOP a lot, offer few ideas on how to solve the student debt crisis, then blame the GOP for failing to pass legislation that Obama hasn’t sent to Congress. This will be All About Obama, rather than any attempt to help the country. Narcissism on Display.
And what is causing the rise in college cost? Our great government.
And once those kids graduate what are the chances for decent employment? =====>> 0%
Unfortunately I am not kidding.
“48 percent of employed U.S. college graduates are in jobs that the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) suggests requires less than a four-year college education.”
“Young adults with bachelor’s degrees are increasingly scraping by in lower-wage jobs – waiter or waitress, bartender, retail clerk or receptionist, for example”
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, eligible workers ages 20-24 had the highest rate of unemployment in the country as of May 2013 at 13.2 percent. College graduates fared better, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, at 12.6 percent in 2011. This compares to the national average of 7.6 percent unemployment.”
The problem is Clinton played games with how the stats are calculated and by the old method the national unemployement rate is ~ 23% link Despite the propaganda the rate sky rocketed from ~12% in 2007 to over 20% in 2009 and has shown no signs of decreasing.
What no one ever bothers to tell these kids is once you have settled for a low pay grunt job, industry doesn’t want you. Your education becomes “Stale” after about a year so they are going to go after that bright brand-spanking new diploma not you.
Same goes if you have been unemployed for over 6 months. They don’t want you because obviously something is wrong with you if you couldn’t find work for that long. Besides they rather steal someone working for the competitor or a H1b visa worker than someone who has been ‘Sitting on there butt loafing’
BTDT and gave up and went into business for myself.
