“We worked with the UN to create a group of inspectors and then worked for more than six months to get them access to the country on the logic that perhaps the presence of an investigative team in the country might deter future attacks,” Power said at the Center for American Progress as she made the case for intervening in Syria.
“Or, if not, at a minimum, we thought perhaps a shared evidentiary base could convince Russia or Iran — itself a victim of Saddam Hussein’s monstrous chemical weapons attacks in 1987-1988 — to cast loose a regime that was gassing it’s people,” she said.
Shockingly, Iran denied Obama/Power Smart Power and said “piss off”. I know I shouldn’t be surprised at the sheer buffoonery and cluelessness of Obama and the people he hires, but this one is dumber than expected.
Furthermore, note where Power said this. She’s given up on the United Nations already (after missing many sessions because she was on holiday), but is happy to reach out to the ultra far left Center For Amerikan Progress.
As I remember, Iran used chemical weapons as well against Saddam. Do you think that our government is clueless on how ruthless the Iranian government is?

I could be wrong, but I got a strong hunch Mr. Teach in another decade was quite elated at hearing Major Combat Operations Are Now Over and Iraqi Oil Revenues Will Cover The Invasion/Occupation Tab and who could forget the promise of an endless buffet of flowers and candy for our troops. If he was just as outraged as he appears in this post, then i apologize. If his only reaction to the questioning of last decade’s incompetence and buffoonery was “But what about Micheal Moore?!” … People, take heed to who you take seriously on foreign policy.

Facts are that it was the liberals who demanded no war for oil, no blood for oil. And thus, they demanded that we not get any oil out of iraq for ourselves. They demanded, and received from Bush, that the world would get first dibs. While we spent the money to put the fires out, to rebuild the wells, refineries, and transport mechanisms, the world reaped the world-wind on oil profits.
But, yeah, let’s rewrite history shall we? So, now with Obama going in to a foreign country, its all OK. Even if we are helping terrorists fight other terrorists. By the way, has O solved Iran or Pakistan yet? How did Egypt and Libya turn out?
