I for one, being a limited gov’t sort of fellow, find it rather amazing that people can live on federal lands. I understand that they have a lease that assumes that the “homes” are vacation spots. But, even so… why are people allowed to build their private vacation homes on federal lands?
Grazing, i can sort of understand because its a vast grassland that would go to waste otherwise and the feds are getting paid by letting someone else manage the lands.
But, for lands around a lake that people are living on?
The feds need to sell this land to the “renters” or another private entity.
To me, anything on federal land is federal property and thus public property. and that includes the grazing lands. If you want a lease to graze your cattle, then you have to be willing to see “public” use that land. it can not be a sole-use lease.
