Yet another bad poll for Obama, Democrats, and their horrible partisan law
(Yahoo News) Americans who already have health insurance are blaming President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul for their rising premiums and deductibles, and overall 3 in 4 say the rollout of coverage for the uninsured has gone poorly.
An Associated Press-GfK poll finds that health care remains politically charged going into next year’s congressional elections. Keeping the refurbished HealthCare.gov website running smoothly is just one of Obama’s challenges, maybe not the biggest.
The poll found a striking level of unease about the law among people who have health insurance and aren’t looking for any more government help. Those are the 85 percent of Americans who the White House says don’t have to be worried about the president’s historic push to expand coverage for the uninsured.
More fun: an Obamacare supporter, who was finally able to enroll after 50 tries on-line
Thanks to tax credits available under the law, she was able to save about $100 a month on the monthly premium for her new coverage. But she had to switch carriers because staying with her current insurer would have cost more than she was willing to pay. She hasn’t gotten an invoice yet from her new insurance company.
The premiums she found on the new insurance marketplace were “not at all” what she expected, said Dessel. “They were much, much higher.”
A supporter of Obama’s overhaul, she believes changes are needed to make the coverage more affordable.
“I think with a lot of amendments or updates, it could be very, very helpful and beneficial,” said Dessel. “I know a lot of people who don’t have insurance. My hairdresser, my plumber don’t have insurance and they’re not going to get it if it’s not affordable.”
She loves the law, but still suggests massive changes. Surprise.
The one in four who can’t admit the rollout has gone poorly must be gub’ment contractors. Or, perhaps there’s a close correlation to the 20% who annually self-identify as liberal in the Gallup ideology poll. We already know ideology trumps all for the Left.
Liberty,
The one in four and probably the same people who think that Obama is great. Note that that includes 5% of Republicans. People were wondering who that 5% are and I think it is likely the Republican leadership. They seem to be doing everything possible to carry the water for this clown.
As to the role out and the bad web site and the increased cost of insurance, well, you ain’t seen nothing yet. There is so much in this bill that will ultimately destroy the US that it can’t be enumerated yet.
We finally got our insurance bad news. I have great insurance through my employer. No deductible. Low co pays. And only about 170 a month. Now it has gone to $500 deductible per person up to 1500. $1000 max out of pocket. Co pays went up and premiums went to about 230 a month. While this is still great it is still at least a 20% increase and will only get worse as when 2016 gets here this will be considered a ‘Cadillac plan’ and will be subject to that unfair tax/penalty. During the meeting for this, my employer came right out and said that because of the ACA and this being a Cadillac plan is the reason for the increases and why things will only get worse from here.
Right on David.
Nighthawk. I agree. Our premiums went up too under our employer provided plan. They told us specifically it was due to FailCare.
Fortunately we were able to get a COLA to help make up for it. But then, everything else has gotten more expensive.
Yes, more gov’t regulations, intrusion, red tape, and wrangling will definitely reduce the costs. Sure. Whatever. The reason premiums went up is because the insurers have to pay for what FailCare demands they cover without co-pays. You pay eventually.
