It’s party time! A big milestone has been hit, it has been 3000 days, including today, since the last major hurricane made landfall on the United States! We go all the way back to October 24, 2005, when Hurricane Wilma made landfall in Cape Romero, Florida as a category 3 hurricane, with wind speeds of 120mph.
We haven’t quite hit the longest period on record, which stretched 3,316 days, from August 11, 1860 to September 8, 1869. But we’re closing in! Set your calendar for November 22nd, 2014. Till, then, let’s dance!
Kudos to President Obama for defending us from the terrorists AND hurricanes!
The last Republican President allowed terrorists to attack us on US soil and major hurricanes to attack our shore.
J-you forgot to mention global warming. He stopped that, too.
sandy was pretty major…
Don’t forget the seas stopped rising. The world stopped warming (before he took office even – it was pre-afraid). The sun stopped getting hotter. We landed a big rover on Mars.
But then, 1/3 of America is unemployed and half are on on some form of welfare, and another 1/3 don’t speak English. And the minorities are dictating public policy.
We lost all gains in Iraq and Afghanistan and have turned all our international friends against us.
Yep, great guy.
But Sandy was just below hurricane status when it made landfall in NJ, Hap.
Oh yeah, and HAPPY 3,000th non-major hurricane post, Teach!!!!
btw,… that pirate dance is rather…. UNnormal, isn’t it?
Three words:
Nidal Malik Hasan
Oh come on Gitarcarver. You as a preacher should know that Hasan only “acted out” on a whim due to white-man’s racism causing his work-place violence outburst.
