(SacBee) Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., and more than 40 of her colleagues Wednesday urged a crowd of environmental activists to push lawmakers to address the threat of climate change.
Boxer was flanked by other leading California Democrats, including Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Rep. Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco and Rep. Henry Waxman of Los Angeles during the 75-minute event at the Dirksen Senate office building in Washington.
Boxer identified the worsening droughts and fires in California and storms and floods in other parts of the country as evidence of a crisis.
“Climate change is happening all around us and we need to take action now,” she said. “The first thing we need to do is stop the denial.”
I have two things to say: first, “convince me.” Democrats/Progressives always want to put the kibosh on free thought and free speech. Yet, when it comes to “climate change”, what they do not have is proof of anthropogenic causation. So, her grand idea is “shut up, you!”
Second, if this is so doomy, why did she, Pelosi, and Waxman take long fossil fueled flights to D.C.? How about all the other Democrats (there were no Republicans at the spreading awareness/fascism rally, nor Dems from coal, oil, and gas states)? What are they doing in their own lives?
Boxer repeated her call for a tax on carbon emissions. Virtually all climate scientists agree that carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels is contributing to the warming of the planet.
Notice that the answer always seems to be Big Government, in this case a tax, which allows Warmists to avoid, or at least think they’re avoiding, the pain of government measures.
“It is a moral issue,” she said.
What about the morality of being a complete hypocrite? Interestingly, she also fully supports all forms of abortion on demand, including late term abortion. She called legislation banning late term abortion a “very sad day“. Where’s her morality on this? I’m also guessing she missed
Teach as I have tried to explain before, having a tiny group of people make a drastic change is NOT as effective as having a large group make a small change lie higher mileage cars or subsidized renewable energy sources. What is your logic in believing that liberals would not be subject to a carbon tax or a cap and trade system?

You are a little helpless idiot arent you? Do you not remember the attempts and trials that the socialists went through to try and exempt themselves from ObamaCare? Do you not know that they exempted themselves from the normal federal retirement system to give themselves a better one? DO you not know that even despite voting for ObamaCare that forced them to participate in the exchanges, Obama has made it so that most of Congress is exempt?
Many in Congress are millionaires. What does it bother them to pay a couple hundred more a month in energy costs? It is their laws that affect the poor and middle class J.
