This is actually pretty cool
(Phantom Voter Project) Glen Englram was stunned. After winding down his private sector career, almost four years ago, he and his wife, Ruth, bought their Western North Carolina retirement home and began the next phase of their lives. But they briefly thought they were back in Chicago when they learned that three unknown persons were registered to vote from their address, more than three years after the couple had signed their mortgage and moved into their new home.
Glen and Ruth learned of the three “phantom voters†at their address after the Voter Integrity Project – NC demonstrated their newest search tool, called the Phantom Voter Project. and located at, www.PhantomVotes.org.
“We developed the site to empower citizens by helping them identify long-lost voters who are still registered from addresses at which they no longer live,†said Jay DeLancy, Director of the Voter Integrity Project.. “Once a phantom voter is found, the site will even auto-generate the paperwork that the Election Board needs for their removal.â€
Not every phantom voter is nefarious. They could be just mistakes in the system, voters not cleared out. And, they could also be cheaters. Liberals Are against cheaters, right?
You are able to click the name/names that come up and see the actual voting data (not who you or they voted for, of course), and can create challenges.
Just me at my residence. I already challenged back in 2008, when I received a voter card in the mail for someone who actually seemed to live in the Charlotte area.
And, no, this is not an invasion of privacy, all the data is public record. When it comes to elections, nothing is more sacred than the notion of one citizen one vote.
“When it comes to elections, nothing is more sacred than the notion of one citizen one vote.”
No notion is more scary to the Democrat party, than the notion one citizen one vote.
Trish the Dems have won the popular vote in presidential elections 5 out of the last 6 times
There are more Dems then GOP voters
Nothing scares the GOP mire than one person one vote that us why they try to limit voting
Trish why are there never any convictions for this mythical “voter fraud ” we are always hearing about from the radical right?
Teach. A few months Go you had a very alarming post about dome 32000 NC voters that apparently/maybe were also registered in another state
But no posts subsequently, what has happened? Was this just a big nothing like ALL the hysteria about illegal voters? Can you point to anything more than a handful of convictions out if 100s of millions if votes cast?
Has any red state government ever found anyone yo prosecute for large scale or even small scale voter fraud? Are you bring hosed on this issue?
“Voter fraud” is a fraud
Between 2002 and 2005 5 people were convicted in Federal courts for voting illegally
Teach how many convictions were there for illegal voting in NC ?
Is voter ID just another BIG GOVERNMENT power play?
Teach phantom voter is a tea party com job
Check out the Asheville Tea party site
It has a really cool military truck redone as a “bug out ” truck fir sale
Just what one will need if that illegal kid invasion front line reaches NC
Also bad/sad ness that the GOP NC legislature passed a bill to give/allow illegals to get drivers licenses ( hope none buy that military grade vehicle)
What has happened to NC ??? Is this a rssult if all those. “Smart” people moving down to the Chapel Hill area?
So, according to John, it’s not the data that matters, but who is publishing it. If this had been offered by Think Progress, john would love it.
Seriously, John, you’re being silly. This is data that anyone can look up. I’ve done it myself. This project just puts it all together easily for anyone to use.
And, yes, people have been prosecuted for voting fraud. Usually Democrats. You say you’re all for voting integrity, yet you do all you can to block all reforms and even whine abiut things like this.
BTW, popular vote is irrelevant, since it is on electors. And when you do lose the popular vote, you whine and sue, such as with Prop 8.
John,
Do you know what the conviction rate is for murder? It is about 3%. So you want to judge something by the conviction rate? A good example of voter fraud is the Kennedy/Nixon. Kennedy was acknowledge to have won by fraud. It has only gotten worse. I don’t believe the Tea Party was around then. Since you mention the Tea Party, why don’t you look up their mission.
“Is voter ID just another Big Government power play?” No, it’s not. Next question, please. “Check out the Asheville Tea Party site. It has real cool military truck redone as a bug out truck for sale.” And that proves what, John? -other than they have a real cool military truck for sale.
