On Friday, the Democratic National Committee sent out a letter signed by Mr. Obama, one which surely outraged the Democrats that are left in Congress, most of whom who’ve had Obama’s back, at least publicly, when he’s never really had theirs. Here’s the full text (via Breitbart)
The hardest thing in politics is changing the status quo. The easiest thing is to get cynical.
The Republicans had a good night on Tuesday — but believe me when I tell you that our results were better because you stepped up, talked to your family and friends, and cast your ballot.
How’d it work with you stepping up and yapping?

That’s a pretty Red looking map.
I want you to remember that we’re making progress. There are workers who have jobs today who didn’t have them before. There are millions of families who have health insurance today who didn’t have it before. There are kids going to college today who didn’t have the opportunity to go to college before.
And there are lots and lots of workers who have college degrees and are working spiffy new minimum wage jobs, are underemployed, or have simply given up in despair at finding a job in Obama’s economy. There are kids going to college and putting themselves in massive debt. There are people with insurance they can’t afford to use, but will get fined if they do not obtain it.
So don’t get cynical. Cynicism didn’t put a man on the moon. Cynicism has never won a war, or cured a disease, or built a business, or fed a young mind. Cynicism is a choice. And hope will always be a better choice.
Did he just try the “hope” schtick? Good grief. It’s interesting that he mentioned the moon landing, since NASA under Obama is abandoning the “space” part of it’s name, and is focused more on “climate change” and Muslim self-esteem outreach. Besides, how would he know about any of those mentioned? He hasn’t won a war, cured a disease, or built a business. Feeding young minds? With cow patties.
I have hope for the next few years, and I have hope for what we’re going to accomplish together. If you do, too, join the Democratic Party, and let’s keep building this movement:
Thank you so much.
Barack Obama
Did he just ask people who are Democrats to join the Democrat Party? That’s a head scratcher.
Crossed at Right Wing News.
There are more people in that little blue dot around Chicago than in Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Alaska together.
That skinny blue strip in California has more Americans than West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas combined.
The little blue dot around New York City contains more citizens than all of Texas.
A Senator from California represents almost 40 million Americans. A Senator from Wyoming represents less than 0.6 million. Democracy!
The Repubic Party controls a lot of wide open space.
“The Repubic Party controls a lot of wide open space.”
Yes, and the air is cleaner, the water purer and the people are nicer in those states. Beliefs are tolerated, children are taught values and many families are church going. Unemployment is lower, education is better and people are in general, far more pleasant.
Cities in Progressive states such as CA & NY, well they have progressed themselves into sewers. I will happily take the open space states.

And most of those in those tiny blue spots are the Obama bots that want everything handed to them. Thus, democrat voters.
You couldn’t pay me enough to live in any of those areas. As TrishMac says, wide open spaces, cleaner air and a much easier life. So far, the liberal agenda hasn’t infected the schools here yet.
Keep your blue, urban cesspools and I’ll keep my wide open space.
My intent wasn’t to trash wide open spaces, as I love them too! I’m a Missouri hillbilly myself.
My point was that the map is misleading. Democracy is about people, not surface area. The money that pays all the Federal subsidies that Mississippi, Louisiana, W. Virginia etc get comes from all those blue areas.
Jeff,
Texas is the second most populated state in the country. So I doubt NYC has more people than the state of Texas.
NYC
8,405,837
New York State
19,378,102
Texas
26,448,193
The little blue dot around NYC includes the metro area… Hudson Valley, Long Island, N New Jersey, SW Connecticut etc… not just NYC
“The money that pays all the federal subsidies that Miss., Louisiana and W. Virginia get comes from those blue areas.” And most of that comes from the pockets of evil “rich” people.
j,
Why do you think rich people are evil?
In any event, the Medicare and Social Security payments to older folks in red states come from other working class folks, not the wealthy. Recall that we have a cap on how much the wealthy pay into Social Security. Why the economies of red states aren’t as robust as blue states I don’t know.
