I’m anxiously waiting for Warmists to assail John Kerry as an anti-science fundamentalist
(Weekly Standard) Secretary of State John Kerry continued to beat the drum on the dangers of climate change Friday, noting that “there is no Planet B.” The secretary made the remarks at the swearing-in ceremony for Ambassador-at-Large for Religious Freedom David Saperstein. He drew a religious connection to the issue of climate change, saying that “when it comes to the fundamental health of Earth, folks, we’d better stick to the Creator’s original plan.”
Kerry said he and Saperstein had worked together on a number of issues in the past thirty years, including climate change:
Together we got behind the CHIPS legislation for children’s health care. We pushed for the proposed Workplace Religious Freedom Act, which unfortunately never passed. We were partners in the struggle to help veterans who had been affected by Agent Orange. And we have been allies in trying to awaken the world to the dangers of climate change – and let me just say that when it comes to the fundamental health of Earth, folks, we’d better stick to the Creator’s original plan, because there is no Planet B. (Applause.)
Well, now, if we want to look at the Creator’s plan, we might see that the Creator created a climate that is constantly changing. It can flip between hot periods to glacial ages. It can see smaller periods of cooling and warmth. There have been multiple flips during this inter-glacial period, known as the Holocene. If we’re talking about the “Creator’s plan”, there is nothing unusual going on now, just another typical warm period.
BTW, most of Kerry’s speech, which was about “religious freedom”, which preceded Mr. Saperstein’s speech on religious freedom, rings very false in the Era Of Obama, especially since so much was about protecting the Religion Which Shall Not Be Named.
Double BTW, Rajendra Pachauri, Chairman of the IPCC, resigned after accusations of sexual misconduct (to put it mildly). No Frakking Consensus notes that his 2 page resignation letter is a love letter to himself, and includes
Pachauri’s letter talks about his “greatest joy,†and his “sublime satisfaction.†And about religion:
For me the protection of Planet Earth, the survival of all species and sustainability of our ecosystems is more than a mission. It is my religion and my dharma. [bold added]
Yes, the IPCC – which we’re told to take seriously because it is a scientific body producing scientific reports – has, in fact, been led by an environmentalist on a mission. By someone for whom protecting the planet is a religious calling.
Anyone shocked?
John Kerry? The guy who along with his wife owns 5 ridiculously large mansions, a private yacht, private jet and a few large SUV’s is concerned about our impact on the climate?
Those of us who live in Ma are more than thankful that Barry made Kerry Sec of State. That at least got him out of Ma. for a while.
The only thing bigger than his bullshit is his ego. And whatever it is that feeds that is a complete mystery to damn near everyone.
I guess there is no need to worry then. If AGW is true, God will intercede and stop it. It looks like he has already stopped it or at best slowed it down.
jon carry is not worried about his carbon use impact on the planet; he is worried about YOUR impact on the planet. his ego tells him that he deserves his lifestyle because he cares so much. For liberals/leftists, all that matters is intentions and how much you care. It is never about results.

God’s original plan?
I am very afraid that it somehow looks very similar to HRH Obama’s Five Year Plan.
