Thanks Teach.
Interesting and poignant post, Mike.
Hey, at least they had some diversity in their staff. I also usually find that ethnic establishments, whether they be Asian, Persian, Indian, Mexican, or black, have a complete lack of diversity in their staff. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. They hire family, friends, and relatives like local establishments have always done. But the black places are the only ones where non-blacks have to worry about being unwelcome. Well, maybe a few local Mexican places but if you can throw out some Spanish and buy a few drinks it’s all happy.
Reminds me of a study that I heard about ten years ago. They found that about 36% of blacks harbored strong racist feelings about other races. Especially about Jews (don’t ask me why). IIRC, the second-most racist race was at 13-15%.
Thanks for the kind words.
Funny thing is when I was in Texas, a bar I frequented, called the “Live Oak” on Hempstead in Houston, the clientele was demographically represented. About 17% Blacks,20% or so Hispanic withe rest being White. Everyone was courteous and friendly. Even with the unrest in Ferguson and other places, none of the Black folks I talked to gave it much thought except to agree how stupid it was that these people were destroying their own neighborhoods.
Its just weird how these people can’t see that Democrats don’t have their best interests at heart.
