No announcement as to whether Planned Parenthood will be reviewed. This is an AP article, but, amazingly, it is in the health and fitness section of ABC7 in Los Angeles (obviously, the article is at lots of other news outlets)
CALIFORNIA TO REVIEW VIDEO TARGETING PLANNED PARENTHOOD
California Attorney General Kamala Harris said Friday that she plans to review two undercover videos released by anti-abortion activists aimed at discrediting Planned Parenthood’s procedures for providing fetal tissue to researchers, to see if any laws were broken.
Harris announced the move in a letter to four Democratic members of Congress who had requested an investigation, saying she’ll use her office’s authority to regulate charity organizations to see if the organization that made the videos violated registration or reporting requirements, or broke any other rules. Harris, a Democrat, plans to run for the U.S. Senate in 2016.
“We will carefully review the allegations raised in your letter to determine whether there were any violations of California law,” Harris said in the letter to four members of the U.S. House of Representatives.
She said her office will look into “allegations that individuals impersonated corporate officials from a fake biologics company, resulting in the release of secretly filmed videos of Planned Parenthood physicians without their consent.”
Democrats are Very Concerned over an undercover group exposing Planned Parenthood, but not that PP officials were offering to sell aborted baby tissue and everything else that went with the videos. Then again, they aren’t concerned with abortions in the first place. This is, once again, political targeting by elected Democrats. Go after the whistle blowers. Investigate the exposers, not the wrong doers.
Yeah, Kamala Harris and Loretta Lynch aren’t the AGs for the people of CA and American, they are the AGs for enforcement of the far-left progressive blueprint.
Lynch’s strong bias in this issue are well established:
During her confirmation hearing, Attorney General nominee Loretta Lynch was asked whether she had once signed onto a brief supporting Planned Parenthood’s opposition to partial-birth abortion ban. Lynch confirmed that she had.
She argued that the ban against the killing of partially born children was “unconstitutionally vague and threatens the integrity of the criminal justice system.â€
Kamala Harris has fought hard to keep abortions (err, a full range of women’s health services) accessible and plentiful in CA, and is doing a solid job at building her bona-fides to fill Barbara Boxer’s senate seat.
Teach,
If you had a valid point you wouldn’t have to lie about it.
The article clearly stated they were looking for any illegalities involved in the “sting”. Do you support lawlessness as long as it supports your religious beliefs?
which didn’t happen.
Why lie? Is it just because their religious beliefs differ from yours? Sounds like Evangelical Sharia to me.
Luckily he didn’t lie about it.
Whistleblowers are protected even under recording laws. There is no illegalities to look into so why are they?
The selling of tissue is illegal under CA law, Jeffery
To talk about committing a crime is in fact a crime in all 50 states and under federal law.
Ask yourself that question as you are the one who always has had issues with the truth. (And this case is no different.)
There was no selling of parts – selling of parts was not discussed. Therefore, no crime. Stop lying.
Do you understand what a whistleblower is? You should look it up. And you know more about the law than Attorneys General?
What happened to you? You used to be smart and reasonable. Lately you just flail about, lying and making little sense. All bluster, insults and nonsense.
Mr Teach, I have to wonder if, in the past, Jeffrey supported the espionage of Edward Snowden or Bradley Manning or Julian Assange? Inquiring minds want to know!
Mr. Teach, I have to wonder if Dana understands that Chelsea Manning was not only investigated but was tried and convicted and is serving a 35 year sentence? Assange is being investigated by the US for publishing some of what Manning leaked. Snowden was investigated and charged with violating the Espionage Act.
I believe in the rule of law and Manning was tried and convicted. But I do agree with most conservatives and libertarians that our government keeps too many secrets from we, the citizens.
Why the virulent objection to seeing if the politically motivated attack on a private company was legal?
George Bush’s FBI and DEA investigated PETA, an organization that infiltrated and videotaped activities in slaughterhouses and drug companies.
And could little jeffy inform us of anything illegal that was done by the person that videotaped those two facing monsters.
