After two years of negotiations, we have achieved a detailed arrangement that permanently prohibits Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. It cuts off all of Iran’s pathways to a bomb. It contains the most comprehensive inspection and verification regime ever negotiated to monitor a nuclear program.

Obama sought to push back against critics who argue the deal should be abandoned because it does not permanently cut off Iran’s path to a nuclear weapon. Critics say some of the strictest limits on Iran’s nuclear program go away after 15 years.
Asked by NPR’s Steve Inskeep what Iran’s “breakout time†will be 15 years from now, Obama said “it shrinks back down to roughly where it is now … which is a matter of months.†But Obama said that was no reason to reject the 15 years of limits on Iran’s program under the deal.
So, this temporary deal will make sure the hardcore Iranian regime will receive lots and lots of cash, which can be spent on their support of terrorism. There will be no credible way that any removed sanctions can be put back in place. Iran has cheated on a good chunk of sanctions already placed on the country and specific people.
And it most assuredly doesn’t permanently prohibit Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
So instead of 2-3 months, now it would take 15 years + the time to acquire the infrastructure + 2-3 months to get enough material for a nuke.
Sounds like a good deal.

Our military forces have been so severely degraded under obama it would take 10 years to get back to a position where it would be possible.

What other countries think is irrelevant, unless, as said before, those other countries have Iran wishing for their destruction. They don’t, but Israel has, so what they think is relevant. And they’re against it. Proof that most other countries welcome a nuclear bomb and not, say, a nuclear facility, as in providing electricity, please. This should be interesting….

I vigorously opposed not only Invading Iraq but Afghanistan as well.
I certainly have no desire for another 5000 boys lying dead in the sand to save anyones ass. Especially deadbeat countries that wont bother to defend themselves.
MAD works quite well. My only point is that with or without sanctions IRAN IS GETTING THE BOMB..Just like N. Korea did.

This makes no sense. If the Iranians could have a bomb in 2-3 months without a deal, why would they negotiate a deal that puts it off for years? What in the deal prevents them from using the assets that would have a bomb in 3 months? What was Iran getting that was worth more to them than a bomb in 3 months?
Just because the government says something, doesn’t make it true.
