    Please note also until Obama was elected and healthcare became increasingly partisan the numbers were much higher

    john has issues with staying on topic. Maybe that is why he posts things that are actually contrary to what he says.

    The important thing to note is the date of that poll. It is from 2014. Apparently john missed the fact that this is 2015.

    So how is the ACA rated now?

    ObamaCare enrollees are less satisfied with their plans than people with other types of health insurance, according to a new poll.

    The poll from the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions, the research arm of the consulting firm, finds that 30 percent of people with insurance through ObamaCare’s marketplaces are satisfied with their plans.

    john also claims that the majority of Americans want the government to provide health care.

    What john fails to note is that number is lower than the passage of the ACA; From john’s cited article:

    From 2000 to 2008, between 54% and 69% of Americans said ensuring healthcare coverage for all citizens was the responsibility of the federal government. But the issue grew more divisive in 2009, as President Barack Obama worked to enact the Affordable Care Act, which Congress passed in 2010. Between 2009 and 2011, Americans were split nearly evenly on the matter. Then from 2012 to 2014, public opinion shifted, with slight majorities saying healthcare coverage was not the government’s responsibility.

    But there is something deeper going on here….

    Although U.S. adults lean toward the view that the government should ensure all Americans have healthcare coverage, they do not endorse a government-run system, which exists in most other Western nations. When given a choice, 55% say they prefer a system mostly based on private insurance, as the U.S. has now, while 41% would prefer a government-run system.

    and it gets worse for john’s position……

    Despite receiving Medicare, which is mostly paid for by the government, senior citizens are the least likely to favor a government-run system (31%). The only age group in which a majority favor a government-run healthcare system are those younger than 30 (53%). Support for a government-run system drops with each subsequent age group.

    So the only group that likes the system as it is are those who are less likely to actually participate in it.

    Finally, I wonder how people like john are going to like it when more co-ops die and the government bail outs insurance companies from the massive, practically mandated losses these companies are enduring because of the ACA.

    The Department of Health and Human Services attempted to reassure private insurers on Thursday that they’ll be able to recover losses from participating in Obamacare by claiming it was an “obligation” of the U.S. government to bail them out.

    At issue is a provision within the law known as the risk corridors program. Under the program, which runs from 2014 through 2016, the federal government is to collect money from health insurers doing better than expected and use those funds to provide a federal backstop to other insurers who incur larger than expected losses from rising medical claims. The idea was to provide training wheels to insurers in the first years of Obamacare’s implementation, and to take away any incentive for insurers to cherry pick only the healthiest customers.

    john, like all his little progressive and leftist friends think that because the government supplies something, it must be free to everyone.

    john likes to play the “the polls say this,” gambit all the time despite his inability to read or understand the polls themselves.

    But since he wants to go that route and since he loves (mis)quoting Rasmussen polls, I wonder what he will do with this poll from October 9, 2015:

    The first Full Measure-Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% of Likely U.S. Voters believe giving thousands of Syrians asylum will make America a more dangerous place. Just seven percent (7%) think bringing in that many refugees from the war-torn country will make America safer, while 25% say it will have no impact on national security. Twelve percent (12%) are undecided.

    It gets worse for john. In a November 19, 2015 poll Rasmussen found this:

    Sixty percent (60%) of Likely U.S. Voters oppose the settling of Syrian refugees in the state where they live, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Just 28% favor their state taking in those refugees. Eleven percent (11%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

    The president is still planning to admit 10,000 Syrian refugees into this country next year with more to follow, but only 23% favor allowing those refugees to come here at all. Sixty-three percent (63%) oppose Obama’s plan, while 14% are undecided.
