An interesting piece from Heather Wilhelm at Real Clear Politics
Decades ago, when Americans imagined 2016, hopeful citizens visualized groovy innovations like widely available personal jetpacks, easily accessible moon bases, and “futuristic†fashion trends that looked suspiciously like neon 1980s clothing coated with Saran wrap. So far, 2016 has brought us none of these delightful novelties, but it has delivered a series of depressing public bathroom wars.
Three weeks ago, North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory signed a now-infamous “bathroom bill,†a law that, among other things, restricts access to public restrooms based on the sex that users were assigned at birth. The bill, which was cobbled together after 12 hours in an emergency session, came as a response to a Charlotte ordinance that declared gender identity, not biological sex, as the standard-bearer for proper bathroom entry. (big snip)
Interviewed last week by the Wall Street Journal, McCrory seemed baffled at the bathroom backlash. “Who would’ve thought?†he said. “I can’t believe we’re talking about this.†Indeed, in a world where ISIS is expanding into Europe, ghost ships full of corpses are washing onto Japanese shores from North Korea, Hillary Clinton is proposing a $1 trillion tax increase, and people are still paying good money to see Bruce Springsteen, it seems ludicrous to obsess about bathrooms.
It is ludicris. But, such are the priorities of Leftists, who think that passing laws forcing all business to comply with allowing fake women into the bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers of real women and girls by force of law.
So why can’t we just live and let live? Bathroom law opponents “are crusading against a tiny minority that poses no real threat,†Jillian T. Weiss, a transgender rights lawyer and activist, wrote in Wednesday’s USA Today. In a way, she’s correct: Demonizing transgender people is unfair in any light. But Weiss also misses the bigger picture behind the bathroom brouhaha. It’s not a fight against people. It’s a fight about reality, and whether the government can dictate a certain version of it. Ultimately, it’s a fight about freedom of thought.
Freedom of thought is a choice. And Leftists do not like that whatsoever. The only choice they approve of is aborting babies, and, even there, they are dead set against Wrongthink. We see this with ‘climate change’, we see it on college campuses, we see the rise of microaggressions and trigger warnings. Juveniles attending adult colleges have meltdowns over chalk writings. They say the feel “unsafe.” Even clapping can send them into safe rooms cuddling stuff toys and using coloring books. Their goal is to force societal change for nebulous rationales, without considering the consequences and certainly at the expense of the very people they proport to protect. Most probably have no idea what they’re fighting for, they are joining a cause for the sake of being part of a cause. And one thing they ultimately love is Force, particularly from Government.
Man accused of filming women in Smyrna park’s bathroom
SMYRNA, Tenn. (WKRN) – Authorities believe a man arrested in Wisconsin filmed women inside Smyrna restrooms.
William Davis was charged in Smyrna with felony especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.
Police received a call from the Eau Claire Police Department in Wisconsin on April 1 informing them a man recently arrested for privacy violations may have committed similar offenses in Smyrna.
Local authorities were able to determine Davis had computers containing photos and video footage of women inside bathrooms.
Man Disguised as Woman Recorded “Hours” of Mall Restroom Video: Investigators
The suspect was wearing a wig, women’s clothing and bra when he was found in a mall storage area, according to deputies
By John Cadiz Klemack and Jonathan Lloyd
Charges were filed Tuesday against a man who wore a wig and women’s clothing to disguise himself as he allegedly used a concealed camera to record “hours” of video of women in a Los Angeles-area department store restroom.
Jason Pomare, 33, of Palmdale, was arrested Saturday after customers contacted security officers at a Macy’s store to report a man in the women’s restroom. The security officers contacted a deputy, who was on patrol at the Antelope Valley Mall (map) when he saw a man matching the subject’s description leave the store.
When the deputy found the man hiding in a mall storage area, the subject was wearing a wig, women’s clothing and bra, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
“The deputy noticed he was wearing a wig and appeared to have breasts,” said Sgt. Brian Hudson, of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Pomare (pictured, right) was charged Tuesday with six counts of unlawful use of a concealed camera for purposes of sexual gratification. After his arrest, investigators said a video camera found in his purse had “hours” of video of women using the restroom inside the store.
The suspect pointed the concealed camera under restroom stalls, but one woman recognized the camera’s red recording light and contacted security officers, investigators said. Pomare told detectives he had been in the restroom for about two hours, said Hudson.
There is a simple solution…eliminate gender completely. Instead of Men’s rooms and Women’s rooms, change the signs to say “Penis” and “Vagina” (or “no penis”). Man, woman, whatever…if you’ve got one, use this room. Don’t have one? Use the other room.
Ask Hillary and women of Congress: Would you support transgender women (men) using the woman’s locker room and showering with you. If they say yes, than change the law and do it. Invite transgender men to use your bathrooms and locker rooms and shower with them. Let’s see how many actually have the balls (sorry, bad joke) to do it.
Teach, your last paragraph is hall of fame material.

But, but, but that would offend the ‘transgendered’ who’ve not yet undergone surgery, and hurt their precious little feelings.
Mr Curran wrote:
Oh, it wouldn’t really matter to them, don’t you know, because the Capitol is full of security guards, and the restrooms and locker rooms the congresswenches use have probably as much privacy as you’ll ever find. It’s only a concern for us commoners, who don’t have a huge security staff and somewhat less privacy in locker rooms that it becomes a concern.
And those instance of criminal behavior I am unsure if why you believe that the answer to it is more laws ?
Simply enforce the laws that are already in the books for violations of privacy laws
Does anyone think that new laws woukd have prevented any of those things from occurring ?
Who exactly is going to be doing the vag checks to determine if entrance is lawful?
Are we now going to have to have a whole new division of gender police ?
It is beginning to look like a 2 way race to the bottom between NC and MS for the most gender obsessed.
Teach when America’s biggest corporations criticize one state on its laws that they consider discriminatory maybe you should take a second look at that law
The Attorney General of NC says it is unconstitutional.
Here’s my conundrum: if it is immoral, even criminal or civilly liable for these mom-and-pop Christian businesses to deny services based on their fundamental beliefs, why is it not also immoral or legally actionable for large corporations to refuse their services to the citizens of those states where those who govern choose to pass legislation to protect the religious freedoms of their citizenry?

You mean getting rid of the Confederate flag didn’t create utopia?
[…] As Heather Wilhelm points out at Red State (H/T William Teach): […]
So it should be OK for right wing Repugnicums to oppress minorities ’cause ISIS?
Sorry pussies, we’re watching. You can’t get away with oppressing minorities without getting slapped around. NC can be the new Louisiana if your rednecks keep voting.
Teach: why do you blame liberals for the mess your boyz created?
Why do you support sexual predators?
Oh wait…. you are one.
Guttercrawler is a lying cocksucker
How shameful for a liberal to use a sexual act by gay men as an attack.
Project much Jeffery?
Nevermind…..we know that you do.
