The Bathroom Wars continue, and the NBA still refuses to take a stand against the Houston law against the gender confused using the bathroom of their gender identity. No mention of pulling the team from Houston. Still no mention of the NBA forcing ever other team’s venue to allow the gender confused to use the bathroom of their choice.
(Charlotte Observer) NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said Thursday that if North Carolina’s LGBT law remains unchanged, the 2017 All-Star Game would have to be moved from Charlotte.
Silver’s comments on the state’s controversial House Bill 2 came at the Associated Press Sports Editors’ commissioner meetings Thursday, according to attendees. Earlier in the day, Silver again called the law “problematic†for the league as it stands, but he said he’s confident state lawmakers will “do the right thing.â€
“We’ve been, I think, crystal clear a change in the law is necessary for us to play in the kind of environment that we think is appropriate for a celebratory NBA event,†Silver said at the APSE event.
Huh. So what’s supposed to be a good family weekend event should include men entering the women’s bathroom with women and girls. That’s appropriate? In what world? Perhaps the NBA should worry more about the violence and criminal activity by their players. Perhaps they should worry more about the selfish and thugish attitudes from so many of their players, which kids emulate.
“I’m not sure what statement we would have been making by pulling the All-Star Game but saying we’re absolutely fine playing our playoff game in Charlotte,†Silver said.
“What’s most important to this league is that there be a change in the law. It’d be easy to make a statement, but I can’t cut and run here. I’m leaving my team there,†he added.
What about Houston? Realistically, what about most cities that have an NBA, which have laws against people using the bathroom of the opposite sex? What that statement shows is that this is simply a Being Brave stance for political purposes. The NBA should remember that not everyone agrees, and they could be driving away fans with this pro-gender confused stance. If they aren’t willing to say that all teams should allow this, then it is simply optics, and a fake stance.
Let’s be clear: the primary concern is not about TG folk being predators, though, certainly, some may take advantage: the concern is that people with bad intentions will take advantage of this bit of Social Justice Special Snowflakiness and harm women and children.
So, your answer to NC shooting itself in the foot is to say “Look over there! Houston!!”
Maybe it’s time for NC Repubs to start worrying about NC citizens.
LOL. The objective is for Neander-cons to harass those they don’t like and seem too powerless to fight back.
How’s that working out for NC? They can repeal the law or the NC Repubs can continue to punish the citizens they were elected to serve.
Cracker, please! They’re niggas!! Be a man, ignore the PC police and type what you mean! Don’t be controlled by the SJWs!
Meh, if you don’t understand economics or scientific method, the differences between women and men must be hard to figure out…
-the little guy who exaggerates often and should denounce himself as a white privileged word racist
And here I thought the cry-bullies would have declared world peace because they don’t have to gaze upon a Confederate flag anymore. But, there’s always some new trivial issue to grandstand about.
dp,
I am a dyed in the wool Confederate, as you may know. But the words and attitudes from Jeff are clearly showing his obsessive racism. This is not just in words. He prides himself in treating people of color different. In doing so, he assumed a white supremacist attitude in that he is better than the average man of color (any color) and so can show his supreme tolerance and benevolence. He can even associate with them and call many friend as he is the great white bwana who has come to save them (from what???). On the other hand is the average Southerner who gets along with his black, yellow, green brethren as we always have. If you look at the South from the stand point of a neutral position, you will see that people of color have always been treated in a better manner than in the North. Too much generalization goes into concepts such as Jim Crow, which was an extension of the Black Laws, which originated in the North. Most people only know what the Washington propaganda is and rarely look at the real history.
